Anime, Japanese animation, is a part of contemporary Japanese culture that has a worldwide following which continues to grow year after year.
Today you will travel with your guide to Ogikubo station in one of Tokyo’s hubs for anime, Suginami district. After a short ride on the local bus, you will arrive at the Suginami Animation Museum. Here you can learn about the history of animation in Japan, current and future trends on what direction the industry is headed, and much more, making it a rewarding experience for both long-time fans and even those who are unfamiliar with anime.
Next, you will head upstairs to the workshop room where you will make an original anime clip of your very own! After you have created your drawings, a museum staff member will use a software program to transform your drawings into a real animated clip that you will be able to take home with you.
Also, if time allows, there is also the chance to try your hand at voice acting! You can choose from 4 different anime series, including the world-famous Astro Boy.
