Villa Il Bosco Lucca Tuscany - IPV021

Tucked away in the rolling Tuscan hills, you’ll find the very special Villa Il Bosco; a sensitively restored 17th-century farmhouse. The result of a true labour of love by owner and well-renowned architect come interior designer, Anthony Collett.

"If you're up for a bit of a ramble in the late afternoon, then we reccomend taking the steep path down from the property into the local town, in time for a pre-dinner gin and tonic at the local sports bar!"

This five-bedroom property reflects authentic Italian charm and stylish flare, just a 20-minutes’ drive into the beautiful Lucca’s town centre. However, the attention is in the detail, with quirky features such as a Northern African inspired reading room and vibrant artwork throughout. This is clearly the house of someone with serious interior taste!

It is a generously sized building with many interesting uses of space. The kitchen/living area is very social in layout, perfect for hosting and there is a log burning fire for the cooler nights. The wooden beamed ceilings, original windows with shutters and soft lighting, create the perfect setting for an idyllic Tuscan retreat.

Located on a five-acre plot of land, the grounds have been beautifully landscaped to reveal an impressive vegetable garden (very farm to fork!), olive groves (they also make their own olive oil) and a contemporary swimming pool (14mx14m), plus plenty of outdoor relaxation areas set amongst vibrant wild flowers. There are many options to dine alfresco and an in-built outdoor BBQ for the ultimate chilled dinner with family and friends. The property is made even more special by the panoramic views overlooking swathes of olive terraces and the medieval town of Lucca below.

The swimming pool is a state of the art feature, with a unique black marble lining, creating the illusion of a peaceful lake. This is complemented by the lush surrounding vegetation; a pleasing concoction of bright hydrangeas, grape vines and olive trees. You can’t help but be engrossed in the serenity here!

The property is accessed by a 1.5-kilometre rural lane, ensuring optimum privacy and seclusion. It is definitely 'off-the-beaten-track' and does require a sturdy car for access. We recommend a 4x4 vehicle ideally. Whilst not for the faint-hearted, it is well worth the journey for the hidden gem that awaits!

This stylish property has been featured in the likes of The World of Interiors Magazine and The Times. To be a guest here, is to experience its magic first-hand, and we are sure it won’t be the last time that you’ll visit!

Please note that a cleaning service is included 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. And we can arrange a private chef to cook for you during your stay.

Villa Il Bosco is 15km from Lucca and 36km from Pisa airport.
