A member of the luxury Rocco Forte family, Masseria Torre Maizza is a gem of the Puglia coastline. The renovated 16th century masseria, surrounded by ancient olive groves and close to the azure sea, has been very thoughtfully designed with an air of understated luxury and traditional features and authentic art work, typical of Puglia. Think soft colour schemes, whitewashed buildings, tumbling bougainvillea and calming views of the blue sea.

The property has 40 rooms and suites, all extremely comfortable and elegant with carefully selected beautiful art work and furniture of natural fabrics and materials. The spacious rooms all feature gorgeous king-sized beds, luxurious stone en-suite bathrooms, comfortable lounge areas, wifi, satellite TV and in-room mini bar. Some Superior Rooms have a private garden overlooking the olive groves, lush green golf course or sparkling Adriatic Sea, whilst all suite categories offer a private terrace and garden. For an extra special stay, the Deluxe and Grand Suites also have their own plunge pools.

The masseria is wonderfully located nearby to some of Puglia’s most charming coastal towns, such as Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, and other must see places, such as Ostuni and the enchanting town of Alberobello with its traditional trulli lining the narrow streets. Many outdoor adventures, such as hiking, horse riding, fishing trips, boat trips and biking in to the beautiful surrounding landscape can be arranged from the property, and of course a number of delicious tastings and cooking lessons with some of Puglia’s most treasured ingredients and recipes can also be enjoyed. But for guests wishing to relax at the property, the excellent facilities include a 9-hole executive golf course, peaceful spa, lovely swimming pool and private beach club. Pretty outdoor terraces and seating areas, bathed in dappled sunlight, offer a great space to relax with a book or evening cocktail.

Dining at Masseria Torre Maizza is every bit as lovely as the surroundings. Carosello, set in the former stables, offers traditional local cuisine using fresh and seasonal produce, whilst the pool bar is a more casual affair with a light cafe menu in the relaxed surroundings. Bougainvillea is the property’s elegant bar, with both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for a strong Italian coffee or evening aperitivo!
