The bustling waterfront, cobbled streets and colourful facades of Santa Margherita, Portofino’s more rustic sibling, is a wonderful place to include on any trip along the Italian Riviera of Liguria and Hotel Continental provides an excellent base. Situated right on the bay, with uninterrupted views across the calm sea, harbour and pretty old town, every effort has been made to accentuate the hotel’s location from their restaurants with amazing views and private beach, to their charming sea view rooms.

The property has 69 rooms ranging from their Standard Rooms with views over the hills and town streets to their Junior Suites, but we would highly recommend choosing a room with balcony overlooking the breathtaking Ligurian sea, on which you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine taking in the calming view. Although rooms are quite simple in their decoration, they are comfortable, clean and offer en-suite washrooms, wifi, AC and room service.

Hotel Continental has beautiful, carefully manicured gardens overlooking the sea as well as a private rocky beach providing sun loungers and access to the calm waters of the bay, perfect for a dip during the sunny summer months! Along with a generous buffet breakfast served to all guests, the hotel has two wonderful restaurants serving up an array of typical Ligurian cuisine and fresh seafood of course! One restaurant enjoys a spacious terrace and large windows overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio whilst the second is a more relaxed affair, located right on the rocky beach and is open from Easter until October (weather dependent).
