Don Ferrante, a restored historical building built in to the stone ramparts of the port of Monopoli, comprises of the main boutique hotel, a luxury guesthouse and luxury townhouse - both of which are located around 150m from the main building. The property offers a tranquil, elegant and relaxing setting with plenty of contemporary luxury, but the interiors and furnishings maintain the character and charm of the hotel’s surroundings, in the pretty white washed old town. On one side of the hotel lies the glittering Adriatic sea whilst the other spills right out on to the charming narrow streets of the historic centre. Narrow passageways and various terraces and patios filled with olive trees, cacti and colourful bougainvillea all add to the character and charm of the hotel, but do note there are some steep steps at the property between the various levels.

There are 10 rooms in total; two suites are located in the nearby Town House, both of which have independent access and full use of the services and facilities of the main building, and two suites and one room are located in the Guesthouse, again all of which have private entrances and full use of the main building. The main hotel building houses Deluxe rooms, Superior rooms and the Don Ferrante Suite. All rooms have a really romantic feel and decorated with neutral tones, soft colour schemes, carved wooden furniture and vaulted stone ceilings. Room sizes vary and some have sea views, whilst others overlook the town streets below. All have en-suite bathrooms whilst the suites offer more space with separate living rooms. Some of the accommodation has private balconies whilst the special Suite Madia in the Town House has a beautiful roof terrace overlooking the town’s rooftops.

The hotel’s most special communal space is the rooftop bar and restaurant, with spectacular sea views and across the town below. Here guests can enjoy lunch, dinner, evening drinks or an afternoon coffee whilst taking in the beautiful views. The generous breakfast is served in the canon room of the old fort and plenty of local specialities and delicious continental dishes are served. The small pool, surrounded by loungers on the sunny terrace, is a great place to cool off in the Puglia sunshine after a day of exploring the historic town.

A number of experiences and activities can be arranged from the hotel including boat excursions, guided cultural tours, cooking classes and tastings and cycling, and the hotel is well located for exploring other nearby towns and places of interest such as Polignano a Mare and the fairytale like town of Alberobello.

NB as the hotel is in the pedestrianised historic centre, cars can be parked in the town’s car parks, and the hotel can help transfer with luggage in their tuk tuk.
