Borgo Egnazia is a place like no other. Built in imitation of a traditional village - borgo - the magical resort is nothing short of a fairy-tale. Surrounded by 40 acres of rustic countryside, ancient sun-baked olive groves and the swirling azure waters of the Adriatic, Borgo Egnazia offers guests all of the serenity and natural beauty of Puglia’s landscape with a big dose of understated luxury.

The property offers 183 rooms in total. There are 63 bedrooms in La Corte (the main building), 92 bedrooms in the Borgo and 28 villas. Across all of the room categories there is something to suit everyone from individual balconies found in all of La Corte’s rooms, private garden, terrace and plunge pool in the Egnazia Suite, the village-life experience of the Borgo Cassetta Bella rooms and the family friendly villas (each sleeping up to 8).

Whilst all of the facilities you would expect from a luxury resort can be found in every room category - such as WiFi, LCD TV, minibar and luxury bath products - extras are included for guests staying in the villas. Here you will have use of bicycles (otherwise available for a fee) and a dedicated local adviser. Some of the larger villas offer a private cabana at the beach club and use of a golf cart.

There is so much to enjoy within the Borgo, with the vast surrounding land and access (via private shuttle) to two private beaches - one sandy and one pebble - both with a beach club. There is also a golf course, four swimming pools, yoga studio and fantastic adult only spa. The menu of treatments and programmes, and even features such as roman baths, create the ultimate space for total relaxation and rejuvenation. But for those enjoying a longer stay, you may like to explore a little more of the region. Ideal if you have a hire car, take a day trip to the charming nearby towns of Ostuni, Polignano a Mare and Alberobello.

Guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to deliciously fresh and local produce to suit all taste buds. The resort is mostly self-sufficient, with the majority of produce homegrown and anything that’s not is sourced locally. There are four restaurants; plenty of typical Pugliese food and summer BBQs. Cooking classes can be arranged, which is a joy for all ages. There are of course several options for lovely fresh coffee, a leisurely lunchtime glass of local wine or a relaxed evening cocktail under the stars (or by the fire in winter).
