A member of Art Hotels Bologna, a trio of hotels in the heart of the medieval centre of Bologna, Art Hotel Commercianti is a wonderful boutique hotel in a historical building dating back to the XII century. It is situated right alongside the Basilica di San Petronio on a quiet pedestrianised street just off Piazza Maggiore, making it ideally located for exploring all that Bologna has to offer on foot, whilst providing a comfortable base full of character and a cosy atmosphere.

The hotel has 38 rooms across 7 different categories. Given the age of the building, and because the property has been very carefully and sensitively renovated over the years to retain the history and features, no two rooms are the same size or shape. What they do have in common however are the finishing touches - period features, dark wooden furniture and exposed original beams, rich colours and furnishing, en-suite marble bath and shower rooms and a mix of single, twin and double beds. Despite the age of the property, all of the modern amenities you would expert from a good quality hotel are provided, such as complimentary WiFi, minibar, flat screen TV, AC and bath robes/slippers.

The property’s location means guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out in the city, and lunch and dinner are not offered at the hotel. But a delicious and very generous buffet breakfast is provided to all guests, which is sure to keep you fuelled energised for the morning! The hotel also has bikes for complimentary use, access to a parking garage for those arriving by hire car (a fee is charged), and pets are welcome.
