The Shalimar Spice Garden is in a very quiet location, a 15 minute drive from Thekkady town. This makes it more isolated and so perfect for those wishing to get away from it all and completely immerse in their natural surroundings. This is the most jungle like experience you will get out of the properties in the area.

A stream runs through the property with a wooden bridge built over it and the farm surrounding it, so that you can enter into the property. A unique beginning to a stay.

There are 20 rooms here, consisting of; 7 Elegant Rooms, 11 Elegant Cottages and 2 Honeymoon Cottages. All are thatched in a traditional Keralan style with boutique interiors and outside sitting areas looking onto the spice gardens.

As this is quite an isolated property you are likely to dine here but with the choice of Keralan, Indian, Italian and Continental dishes to choose from you will be spoilt for choice.

There are a variety of treks and walks on offer here, as well as boat cruises and bamboo rafting. For a more relaxing past-time enjoy the Ayurvedic treatment here.
