Udaipur is well known as being one of the most romantic cities in India, and Jagat Niwas certainly reflects that with its charming terraces and spectacular views across Lake Pichola. You could easily while away entire afternoons gazing across Udaipur from the property’s roof top terrace enjoying a cool drink! Its location in the heart of the old town is perfect for exploring the city, whilst its cool and breezy courtyards and terraces provide the perfect relaxing spot.

The property has 29 rooms split across 4 categories - Standard Rooms, Haveli Rooms, Heritage Rooms and Suites. The rooms have all been carefully decorated to reflect the property’s heritage and whilst not luxurious, they are perfectly clean and comfortable and provide good amenities such as en-suite shower/bathrooms, WiFi, TVs and tea and coffee making facilities. The Suites and Heritage Rooms offer views across the lake whilst the Standard Rooms and Haveli Rooms face the courtyard.

The property does lack some facilities such as a pool or spa, but the delightful dining and terrace areas and excellent location really adds to your stay. Their roof top restaurant and terrace Chandni is a must for evening meals when the heat of the day has passed, whilst their second restaurant Jharoka is excellent for lunch with plenty of large windows to enjoy the view from. Both serve a variety of cuisine from continental, Chinese and of course traditional Rajasthani cuisine - which we would recommend.
