Exploring Horse Riding Holidays

Slovenia Horse Riding

Slovenia Horse Riding, a great way to discover the hidden beauty of Slovenian nature by horseback

Slovenia horse riding offers a tour in a ‘fairy-tale’ country of extraordinary diversity. Here the alps meet the Mediterranean and Pannonian Basin gives way to the Karst. The Karst region is well-known for its unique landscapes. Slovenia is famous for its scenic lakes, forests and underground caves and not to forget… the Lipica Stud Farm!

No matter what you are looking for, Slovenia horse riding has it all! Combining riding tours with cultural visits is a great way to enjoy a riding holiday. You can spend time on the horse, discovering the mountains. Stop at a meadow where cows and horses roam free during the summer. Enjoy the view of the famous Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj or visit the beautiful valleys in Triglav National Park. Ride to a wine tasting on real Lipizzaner horses or explore the Triglav national park on Iceland ponies.

Slovenia is well-known as the land of forests. In other words, from the mountains to the sea about 60 percent of its territory is covered in woods. As a result, you can still find the king of the forest, the brown bear here. No matter where you go, an incredible experience awaits you!

Lipica Stud Farm

Slovenia horse riding is a centuries-old tradition, due to the Lipica Stud Farm. This is the cradle of the world-famous Lipizzaner horses. In other words, horse lovers must not miss a visit to the Lipica Stud Farm. The beautiful white horses have been raised in Lipica for more than four hundred years. The Lipizzaner are perfectly trained in classical dressage, therefore you will enjoy the Lipizzaner horses. Experienced riders will really love the Lipica stud farm. If you don’t yet know how to ride, the equestrian centres provide various lessons. Though also for accompanying non-riders there is enough to do. Take an e-bike and meet up with the riders at the Postonja caves for a tour. Take a carriage ride or meet up at the winery for a tasting. A golf course is also near the Lipica stud farm.

Slovenia Horse Riding offers excellent riding for novice and experienced riders. It’s a great way to explore Slovenia, for the reason that at the same time you can see the natural and cultural attractions. We offer you a variety of riding tours and adventures. Best time for riding in Slovenia is from April till September/October.
