Day 7 -

Enjoy your last day of riding through the Puszta. Let the horses, once more, show you what they are made of and gallop over the fields or sandy tracks. Listen to the sounds of nature and breath the fresh air.

After breakfast it is time to say goodbye to the Puszta.

-

Of course you can skip a day of riding to visit the city of Szeged or join one of the other activities that Homoki offers.

Market Rides can be done on every third and fourth Sunday of the month in the nearby villages. Rides leave after breakfast towards the market place. At arrival horses are taken care of while you can walk into the markets and dive into the lively bustle of the market traders. Puszta Riding makes you feel like a real Magyar rider!

Homoki Lodge offers a fantastic way of riding through the Puzsta, you will enjoy fields of flowers, lush forests and wetlands (depending on the season). You will be trotting along sandy tracks and gallop over wide-open fields of green. Free your mind and find your soul on the back of these very well trained horses!  Homoki’s horses are fit, strong and healthy Hungarian Warmbloods. The Breed was developed at the Mezohegyes State Stud in Hungary. As a result of selective crossing out of Gidran, Kisberi, Achal Tiki, Nonius, North Star Furioso and Arabs, a ‘warmblood sport horse’ was born. Homoki keeps the  horses  in a herd nomad style, the reason for this is that it gives the horses time to sort their hierarchy and they are working relaxed and willing under the rider as soon as the hierarchy is clear.

The Puszta riding also offers a wide variety of non-riding activities. Enjoy a ride on one of the fat-bikes or watch wildlife on a jeep safari. Visit a local market and shop for some souvenirs or stroll through the city of Szeged. Visit the horse theatre or the Kurultaj Festival (depending on the time of year). Learn the old tradition of Magyar archery or watch the Hungarian Cowboys at a horse riding show. Visit the Puszta in May, you can see the Mayfly Blooming

Homoki Lodge take novice riders, advanced riders and expert riders. The horses on riding holidays work hard week after week and even with regular breaks and good tack it is hard work for them, therefore the maximum weight is 187lb (85kg). Though an experienced rider, who may exceed the weight limit, may ride very light on the horse’s back. So, please do check with us first.
