Morocco horse riding offers a great combination of riding, sightseeing and Moroccan culture.
Essaouira
Spend your free afternoons in the souks of Essaouira. Essaouira is bright and breezy, situated on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Renown as one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco, Essaouira is an enchanting, laid-back alternative to the frenetic Marrakesh. The town’s name means “little picture” in the Arabic language, hence it’s a painter’s dream location. Due to the vibrant blue-and-white “medina”, enclosed by sand-coloured ramparts and impressive stone gates. Furthermore, the colourful port with its rolling waves and a wide beach stretching for miles complete the canvas. With its friendly locals, Essaouria has developed into one of the more tranquil spots in Morocco. Wind- and kitesurfers glide over the waves, the call of seagull’s echo, and fishing boats pull into harbour.
The Atlas Mountains
Discover the Atlas mountains from horseback. With snow-capped peaks, lush valleys & traditional mud-built Berber villages, the Atlas Mountains offer superb trail riding and a wonderful break from the madness, heat and noise of Marrakech. We offer a one day trail up to five days trail riding. Ride across Kiki Plateau, through Ouirgane and Azzaden valley. Climb the Oudide pass or go up the Oukaimeden, a winter ski resort. The trail riding in the Atlas Mountains offers around 5 to 6 hours riding with overnights in local guesthouses.
The Riding
The Morocco horse riding will take place in the surroundings of Essaouira or the Atlas Mountains. In Essaouira you can enjoy riding lessons, as well as hack outs starting from an hours up to 3 hours or a full-day. It is all up to you and your skills, how long you would like to be in the saddle.
The riding is also great to combine with one of our Morocco offers. Give us a call and we will be happy to chat through the variety of riding option.
