In 2011, Fleewinter started supporting the charity WeSeeHope.

WeSeeHope focuses on education, children’s rights and economic empowerment in Southern and Eastern Africa.  They do this by developing community-led programmes that identify and support vulnerable children.

Children who are isolated, exploited or lacking in opportunities are taught vital skills to help them determine their own futures.

Wider education programmes also target families, guardians and communities, ensuring that these children are not only supported every step of the way to a bright future, but also that the knowledge and skills are passed forward.

How does WeSeeHope help?

It’s no secret that unless done in a sustainable way, charity work can do more damage than good.

Change must be for the long-term and ultimately owned and implemented by the communities it impacts.

By sharing resources and technical expertise, and by creating local networks, WeSeeHope supports the growth of community-led initiatives.  The skills and knowledge needed for sustained success are developed organically, in partnership with local volunteers.

These communities then identify areas that need support, and pass this knowledge onto others.
