With just five double rooms and one suite, Leo’s is the smallest hotel that we offer in The Gambia. It’s a tranquil, child-free hideaway, run by an Austrian couple, Nina and Alois, who built Leo’s as their dream, home with a hotel attached. Together with their staff, they will strive to make sure you have the perfect holiday.

From the hotel's design and construction to its furnishing, sustainability was forefront in their minds. It’s impressive to know that the hotel’s photovoltaic solar power system generates all their energy requirements including the air-conditioning.

The double bedrooms are all on the first floor with private balconies overlooking the swimming pool, lawns and beach beyond. They are spacious and light, and while simply furnished they have with all the modern conveniences you would expect to find. The one-bedroom suite has a large living area, separate bedroom and balcony which, it should be noted, does not directly face the sea.

The large lawn filled with flowers and shade-giving palm trees leads down to the beach, a vast, quiet stretch of sand. With just a couple of sleepy beach bars, there’s usually barely a soul in sight.

The restaurant at Leo’s Beach Hotel is popular with the local ex-pat community and offers just a small choice of beautifully prepared dishes, made with fresh, local produce. Should you be after a change of scene, the lively resort of Kololi with its many restaurants offering a wide range of cuisines is just a short taxi ride away.

Please note, Leo's will close for the summer from the end of June to the end of October.
