I’ve been fortunate enough to have travelled widely and experience many beautiful and interesting places along the way. After graduating, I moved to the cosmopolitan Dubai and worked as a flight attendant for over three years, which enabled me to develop my love of travel.
I planned a big trip to South America in 2015, starting in Rio and traveling across the continent, but soon enough I realised that there was so much more to see in Brazil than just the main iconic sights. The wonderful people, food, atmosphere, culture, untouched nature and unbelievable landscapes, kept me in Brazil for much longer than planned. I ended up spending four months in the country, discovering, learning and loving it!
I was amazed by how relatively unheard of the Chapada dos Veadeiros or Lençóis Maranhenses are, as the beauty of these places is unrivalled. Not to mention the pão de queijo, tapioca, or a Brazilian breakfast – things I always look back on with a smile and which can not be topped.
Moving back to Europe, I worked for a travel agency in London for a while. But as a true traveler at heart (who always wants to be on the move) it was a joy to set up some of my favourite destinations for Fleewinter and continue being on the move.
Brazil & The Middle-East
“Travel light – most of the times you won’t use half of your suitcase. Travel often – it is good for your soul. Talk to people even if you don’t speak their language – they will try to understand you. Take your mom to an island – I bet you are going to laugh a lot afterwards. Dream more often – it does come true! ” Elena Skalovskaia, Brazil and Middle East Travel Specialist
