Your Itinerary

DAY 1 (Saturday) - Arrival in Luxor

Upon arrival in Luxor you will be transferred by private AC vehicle from the airport to your boutique hotel ‘Al Moudira’ in Luxor. Check in and enjoy the amazing amenities of the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 - Exploring the East and West Bank of Luxor

Have breakfast at your hotel and then you will be picked up by your private Egyptologist guide to explore the mind- blowing antique sites of Luxor.

Firstly you start in the West Bank where you will visit the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut temple and the Colossi of Memnon.

Then you will have lunch at a local restaurant and proceed to the East bank and visit the majestic Karnak Temple and the Luxor temple.

Day 3 - Board your Dahabiya Sail Boat

After your delicious breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up and driven to Esna. Esna, located some 33 miles south of Luxor, is where you will board your dahabiya and meet the crew. A thriving merchant town, Esna is best known for the small ancient Temple of Khnum, which sits 9 meters below street level. Your trip will begin with a brief walk to the temple and a stroll through streets filled with beautiful textiles and other exotic goods.

Day 4 - El Kab & Edfu

El Kab, on the East bank of the Nile, was once the capital of Upper Egypt and is still home to the temple of Nekhbet, as well as a row of fascinating decorated tombs carved into the slope of the mountains. Upon docking, you will embark on a beautiful walk through a small fishermen village to visit the necropolis.

In the afternoon, the boat will arrive at Edfu, home to the Greco-Roman temple dedicated to the god Horus. This is among the best preserved of all Egyptian temples. Horse and carriage will take you to the temple through the busy city streets. After returning to the boat, you will set sail for a beautiful island.

Day 5 - Sail & Swim

This is a day devoted to the river: immediately after an optional morning walk and breakfast, you will set sail. In the afternoon, you will stop at an island for a stroll or to swim in the Nile.

As dusk begins, there may be an opportunity to walk into the desert along a valley lined with boulders covered in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and stone-age inscriptions. These images mark the beginning of the shortest trail through the desert to Libya (28 days in ancient times).
At night, the boat will tie up the foot of floodlit temple of Gebel Silsileh.

Day 6 - Gebel Silsileh

Here, the Nile, flowing between two mountains ranges, is at its narrowest.

You will usually be the only visitors at this fascinating site, as large Nile cruisers are not allowed to stop here.

After visiting the small temple of Horemheb and walking through the sandstone quarries, where ancient Egyptians cut stone for many of their most famous temples, you will visit a picturesque café to enjoy tea and shisha (waterpipe).

You will then sail to a picturesque riverbank where you will stop for lunch and swimming.

Day 7 - Kom Ombo Temple

After a night on the water and beneath the stars, the morning trip will take you to the town and temple of Kom Ombo.

The temple was built during the Ptolemaic period on the site of an older temple and at one of the most beautiful locations, on a bend on the river. The temple was dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile-headed god. After enjoying the temple, you will visit the new Crocodile Museum, which contains many mummified crocodiles, attesting to the importance the creature played in this region in ancient times.

Day 8 - Aswan

Awake to the beautiful sight of the desert closing in on the river at Aswan Bridge. Here your cruise comes to an end.

You will be transferred from the cruise to start your tour visiting the world famous High Dam, The awesome Philae temple, which is devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor, and the largest known ancient obelisk, located in the northern region of the stone quarries of ancient Egypt, the Unfinished Obelisk.

Transfer to your prestigious hotel and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 9 - Bye Bye Egypt

Have breakfast at your hotel and then get transferred to Aswan Airport in order to catch your flight back home.

Cairo
Cairo, the Capital of Egypt with a total population in excess of 16 million people is where we would suggest you would begin and end your Egypt holiday. This metropolitan city is one of the largest in Africa, the largest in the Middle East and the 15th largest in the world! Cairo is often associated with ancient Egypt where you can visit the Great Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza. As well as these there are gorgeous historical sites such as the Islamic city, Old Cairo and the Egyptian Museum. Although firmly attached to the past, Cairo is also home to a vibrant and modern society with some areas being described as “Paris on the Nile” built in the 19th Century. Aswan
Heading south along the River Nile beyond Luxor, lies the smaller city of Aswan. Here, the river is wide, slow and beautiful surrounded by colourful local villages that feature the traditional lives of the Nubians. A quiet and beautiful area is the perfect place to stay in Egypt for your cultural and scenic views fix.
Luxor
Luxor continues to have an ancient feel and look, located in the Southern Nile Valley otherwise known as the “Land of the Pharaohs” and the “worlds greatest open-air museum”. Here you will find ruins of temple complexes connected by an avenue of sphinxes over one and a half miles long all standing within a modern city.

On the West Bank of the Nile, most of the ruins and tombs still remain, including the Valley of the Kings, which contains the famous Tomb of Tutankhamen and the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Alexandria
Alexandria was one of the most important metropolis of the ancient world and highly influenced by the ancient Greeks. This significant city was home of the famous lighthouse of Alexandria (Pharos), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; the Great Library (the largest in the ancient world); and the Necropolis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages.
Esna
Esna Temple, or, also known as Temple of Khnum, is dedicated to the god Khnum, his consorts Menhit and Nebtu, their son, Heka, and the goddess Neith. Well known for its remarkable beauty and the magnificence of its architecture.
Edfu
Edfu Temple, dedicated to the falcon God, is one of the best-preserved temples of the Greco Roman era and the two beautiful granite statues of the falcon god Horus towering over the entrance as you walk in.
Kom Ombo
Temple of Kom Ombo. The unusual Kom Ombo temple has two identical entrances, hypostyle halls, and sanctuaries. Explore the exceptional beautiful temple of Haroeris (Horus the Elder) and Sobek (Crocodile God). The temple was built with two symmetric entrances, halls, and sanctuaries; it is the only double temple all over Egypt.
Abu Simbel
The main attraction is the great sun temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Queen Nefertari. Both temples were discovered in 1813 it was almost completely covered with sand. Then both temples were moved in 1960 by the help of Egyptian government and UNESCO to avoid the rising water of the Nile. Ramses II built the temple mostly to honour himself as inside there is a mural depicting his famous victory at Kadesh battle where his army defeated his enemies. On the north of Ramses temple, the Nefertari Temple which was built by Ramses II to his favourite wife Queen Nefertari among other 200 wives and concubines.
Gebel Silsela
Here lies the old Pharaonic quarries of Silsela and the off-the-path rock-cut Temple of Hormoheb.
Abydos
The ancient Egyptian believed of God (Lord of the underworld) to be buried here. The temple was built by King Seti I, and completed by King Ramsess II, known as the temple of Seti I.The paintings of the Gods and Pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are among the most beautifully preserved in Egypt.
Dendera
Temple of Hathor is situated here- goddess of love and joy.
