Tangarine National Park

Firstly, your Tanzania highlights journey starts in the Tarangire National Park. Being that it is Tanzania’s 6th largest national park. Moreover, the area well-known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees dotting the landscape. As well as passing herds of wildebeest and zebra. It also hosts the regions primary water source during the dry season. Hence, it offers some exciting game viewing of a wide variety of animals during this time. Stay in a luxury tented camp, and they treat you to the finest Kenyan hospitality.

Lake Manyara National Park

Secondly you head off to Lake Manyara National Park and a nearby working farm. Here you will stay for the next leg of your Tanzania highlights trip. As a matter of fact, you immerse in the beauty of the surrounding area, while again they tread you like a royalty. A day trip to the Ngorongoro Crater is an absolute must! Learn about this fascinating region and spend a morning watching the comings and goings of its inhabitants. In addition you will discover the various flora in the area.

The Serengeti

Thirdly, today you travel via a short flight in a light aircraft, to the famous Serengeti region. Finally, this is the last leg of your Tanzania Highlights holiday! Spend 3 nights at a luxury tented mobile camp. In other words, immerse in the migrating wildebeest herds. The area well-known for its migrating wildebeest and zebra herds. As well as, a popular attraction for the lesser known Nile crocodile and the infamous honey badger. Presently still an ancient region steeped in the rich spiritual history of the Masai people. So make sure to spend some time learning about the local culture and traditions.

Your Itinerary

Days 1-3 - Tarangire National Park

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where a local representative will meet you and assist with your road transfer in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser to Tarangire national park. You will be spending 3 nights here, staying at the peaceful and luxurious Oliver’s Camp on a full board basis. Spend a morning exploring the park on foot as part of the famous guided bush walks offered at Oliver’s Camp. The area is a popular location for both elephant and big cats, so make sure to embark on a game drive or two to get the most out of your stay.

Days 4&5 - Manyara National Park

Today the road takes you to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning of game viewing, followed by a picnic lunch out in the bush. From here you will head off to Karatu, where you will spend the next nights. Gibb’s Farm is one of the oldest guesthouses in Tanzania and is situated between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro crater amidst beautiful scenery. Enjoy a number of activities including a selection of nature walks and cultural visits as well as a night time game drive around the Manyara National Park amongst others.

Day 6 - Ngorongoro Crater

Take a guided drive through to the famous Ngorongoro Crater where you will see a variety of interesting plant and animal life in this unique forest environment. Spend the afternoon enjoying a picnic lunch at the foot of the crater, before heading back and being transferred to Manyara airstrip. From here you will take a coastal light aircraft fight to the Serengeti! You stay at Olakira camp on a full board and game package basis.

Day 7 - Serengeti

Olakira is a migration camp that follows the herd of wildebeest as they roam the Serengeti, offering guests front row seats of this natural wildlife phenomenon. The main activities around the camp are centred around game viewing, with a focus on the migrating Wildebeest and the predators that follow them. Spend your days enjoying the front row views of these animals while being pampered in a way that only a luxury safari camp can do!

Day 8 - Return to Arusha

Today is the last day of your Kenya Highlights holiday. Wake up early and be treated to a last expertly prepared and delicious breakfast whilst overlooking the Serengeti and the wild creatures that inhabit it. Pack up in time to be transferred to the airstrip, where you will catch a light aircraft flight to Arusha, flying along the Tanzanian coastline. From here you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will catch a flight back home.

Ngorongoro Crater
