“Lo clásico” – of course!
On the road with E-bikes, next to classic American cars or horse-drawn carriages you discover the historical sites of the revolution! Today you will learn about the history of Cuba and its present marked by the revolution. In the year 1959, the triumph of the bearded rebels over the forces of Fulgencio Batista marked a turning point in the history of Cuba. By fascinating and exciting anecdotes you embark on the Cuban journey through time. Your guide awaits you with the E-bikes in the park Parque Mariana Grajales in Vedado. After a short introduction about the bikes, client’s bike adjustments to each individual height and some general information about the roads and rules of Cuban traffic, you are ready to begin our discovery-tour with the e-bikes. You begin your tour in the neighborhood Vedado towards the Hotel Habana Libre which belonged to the Hilton Hotel chain before the revolution. You continue through the narrow streets of Centro Habana to the core of Havana, making your next stop at the Museo de la Revolución which is right in front of the fine arts National Museum. While seeing the museum from the outside you will receive information about the events that occurred during the revolutionary process throughout the tour. You will be able to photograph the yacht "Granma". You continue to the Central Park where you can admire the first statue erected to pay homage to José Martí in Cuba. You can already see El Capitolio, the faithful replica of the White House in Washington. In the city centre you pass several magnificent buildings from an era that you often only know about from history lessons or documentaries. Part of this area needs renovation, however it is full of charm. You will have the chance to see some of the most notable buildings such as the Grand Hotel Manzana, the Grand Theatre Alicia Alonzo, the Hotel Saratoga, the Building Bacardi and the Cigar Factory Partagás. If open, you will visit the birth house of José Martí. It is situated right in front of the historical Train Station of Havana. Along the Prado we continue the tour to the Malecón and towards the reopened Embassy of the United States of America and further to the impressive Revolution Square. It is surrounded by a giant statue of José Martí, with the obelisk that fixes the highest point of Havana, the National library, the National Theatre, the headquarter of the Communist Party of Cuba, some ministries with huge images and mottos by Ernesto Ché Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos.
