The Parador Resort in Quepos offers accommodation overlooking the turquoise ocean water, and the lush jungle that surrounds it. Whilst it is a large hotel, it retains its personal feeling due to the fact that the 129 rooms are split over four separate buildings, and the proximity to - and views of - the Manuel Antonio National Park make it the ideal base to explore the natural wonders of the area. The park is considered by many to be the jewel of Costa Rica’s rainforests, and is packed with indigenous wildlife, including sloths and many species of monkey that are indigenous to the specific area.
Not only this but the spectacular sandy beaches that stretch for miles along the National Park’s coast are only a 10 minute stroll from the hotel. The Playa Biesanz, the closest beach, provides a secluded patch of paradise where you can swim, sunbathe or snorkel, or at other points along the coast you can also surf, kayak or parasail, if you’re feeling more adventurous.
The accommodation starts with the affordable option of the Garden Rooms, which are located right next to the resort’s restaurants, spa and main pool area, and have direct access to the hotel’s gardens directly from each room’s terrace. They include all the basic amenities, breakfast, and two queen-sized double beds.
In a separate building on a rock high atop the resort’s grounds there are also a small selection of Premium and Premium plus rooms that offer incredible ocean and jungle vistas, two queen sized beds, an en suite bathroom, and a private balcony with sliding doors. For larger groups there are also family suites that include three king size beds, or Vista suites, which are sumptuously adorned rooms with incredible views from their expansive balcony and their own personal jacuzzi.
The food options in this resort are wide ranging and varied, and they will cater to all your fancies, be it Mediterranean specialities, local delicacies, or hearty fare to fuel your adventures. The dining experiences can also vary quite significantly, from casual, pool-side service to more formal restaurants. If none of this takes your fancy, however, then it is only a short stroll to Marina Paz Vela, which features an array of shops and restaurants from which you can catch the stunning sunsets, or Jaco Beach, which has a vibrant nightlife especially popular with surfers.
Whilst this property is perfectly located to explore the spectacular surroundings, there is also plenty to do onsite, with the Pacifica Spa treatment Centre, tennis courts and gym.
