Arenas del Mar is located within walking distance of Manuel Antonio National Park and within 11 acres of private nature reserve, where the rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean.
It is a boutique property with just 38 suites and rooms which have a huge focus on sustainability whilst still being a luxury hotel. The hotel itself is part of the Cayuga Collection which are a pioneering group in sustainable management practices and so whilst you are staying within nature you can be sure to see and enjoy the landscape around you.
Whilst the hotel is located above the beach, allowing the views to be spectacular, you can still reach the sea very easily. The property has a secluded beach, Playitas Beach which is right in front of the hotel next to the Playitas Restaurant and Pool. Here you can relax in the shade, get a cocktail, sunbathe or perhaps head out on a boogie board to catch some waves. The other beach which is either a short walk or you can ask for an electric car to take you down is the Espadilla Beach. This is a 2km long Public Beach connected to the Manuel Antonio National Park. As well as a beautiful beach to relax on this is a great place to rent a surfboard or get a lesson or two out in the waves.
If you are not at the beach you may find yourself in the infinity pool at the top of the property, having a treatment at the fantastic spa which has a focus on holistic therapies, or at one of the restaurants. El Mirador Restaurant which means ‘viewpoint’ and you will see why, serves a la carte breakfast and regionally inspired dinners. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are readily available. The beachfront restaurant is a more relaxed place where you can choose from a varied lunch menu whilst your feet are in the sand. Additionally, there are plenty of themed nights here including BBQ’s, seafood feasts and street food.
Arenas del Mar has four different room categories. The Garden Rooms are located in the lower section of the property with luscious views and just a few steps from the private beach. They can accommodate two people, and all have a small outdoor terrace. The Ocean View Superior Rooms are slightly larger and have a view over the Pacific Ocean. For more space and brilliant views, the Ocean Breeze suite has a bedroom and living area which can be made into an additional bedroom, two bathrooms and a large balcony with stunning views and a hot tub. For the best view from the hotel, the Ocean View Premium Suite has views over both the ocean and Manuel Antonio Park.
Finally for families the best option is to combine an Ocean View Premium Suite with an Ocean View Superior Room which can connect to comfortably accommodate 5 people.
