Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Costa Rica
Upon arrival at San Jose International Airport, a representative will meet you and provide you with all the necessary documentation you will need during your holiday. You will then be transferred to your first property, El Silencio Lodge and Spa. This property is surrounded by a cloud forest abundant with flowing rivers and hidden waterfalls. This is an amazing place to observe birds and other wildlife and a fantastic place to begin your holiday. With the cooler climate, fantastic nature and top end Spa there are few better introductions.
Day 2 - Explore the Cloud Forest to see the abundance of nature here
We have left today free for you to relax at your leisure. We would recommend walking through some of the trails within the property discovering the wonders of these ancient forests, including large numbers of migratory birds and interesting plantations of medicinal. You may also wish to include an extra activity such as visiting a rural community including a stop at a local orchid enthusiast’s garden, a trek to waterfall or horseback riding through the mist-covered mountains.
Day 3 - Transfer to the majestic Arenal Volcano
This morning your driver will pick you up and transfer you to the enchanting Arenal Volcano passing through beautiful rural scenery. When you reach La Fortuna the mighty Arenal Volcano will welcome you. Check into Nayara Resort & Spa where you will spend the next three nights. This is an exclusive boutique hotel sitting on an unspoiled mountain. The lush vegetation of Costa Rica’s pristine rainforest surrounds the beautifully appointed rooms.
Day 4 - Canopy Walking and Hiking through the Arenal National Park
After breakfast you will be picked up and transferred to the start of your canopy tour designed to provide the visitor greater contact with nature. It consists of 15 cables and 18 platforms in total. This afternoon visit the Arenal Volcano National Park. You begin with a short boat ride from the Arenal Lake Dam to the start of the hike which takes you through amazing views of the lake and lookouts for birdwatching and nature photography. Evening at leisure to enjoy one of the hotels restaurants.
Day 5 - At leisure to fit in more adventure or relax by the pool
Today has been left at your leisure. You may wish to just enjoy the pools, bars and restaurants at your hotel or perhaps book an additional activity. For something exhilarating this is a great place for zip lining or white-water rafting. You can also book into more trekking, hanging bridges experience or repelling. This is an adventure lover’s paradise so do let us know if you wish to pack in some more adrenaline seeking excitement!
Day 6 - To the golden sands of the Pacific Coast
Your driver will pick you up this morning and transfer you to El Tanque Airpstrip for a local flight to Quepos in the Central Pacific coast. On arrival you will be bet and driven to your hotel in the Uvita mountains. A high-end stylish property with beautiful views over the Pacific Ocean, the untouched beaches of Marino Ballena National Park, and the famous Whale’s Tail sandbar formation. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your leisure and enjoying all this top property has to offer.
Day 7 - 10 - Soak up Beach Life
These three days have been left to enjoy the hotel facilities at leisure. Head to the nearby beach, relax around the pool or we would highly recommend a whale and dolphin watching tour where you can see these amazing animals swimming near you. However, much you decide to add into this part of your trip there is no doubt you will feel completely relaxed by the end of your stay here. Please let us know if you would like to book any activities in advance.
Day 10 - From beach to the Jungle of the Osa Peninsula
Continue further south today into the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. This part of the country is the most bio-diverse and least discovered and is a true paradise for wildlife. You will head to Puerto Jimenez where the staff of your hotel Playa Cativo will be waiting for you to board the boat that will take you to the hotel which is the only access. There is no TV or phone here and it is designed to offer an experience with nature but with as much comfort as can be found deep in the jungle.
Day 11 & 12 - Hiking, Snorkelling, Diving or Kayaking - days left free for adventure
These days have been left for you to enjoy as many activities as you like, these can be booked directly through the hotel. Whether it is kayaking in the mangroves, whale & dolphin watching, nature hikes, bird watching and night tours, doing yoga moves on the paddle boards, hiking with our passionate and enthusiastic naturalists, fishing, cooking and learning new recipes or just chilling by our freshwater pool with a cocktail and a good book. Kayaks and snorkelling equipment are complimentary.
Day 13 - Bon Voyage!
Today you will return back to San Jose airport by domestic flight where you will connect with your international flight home. We hope you have had an amazing adventure in Costa Rica!

This itinerary costs from £4,430 per person B&B based on 2 sharing and including all private transfers but not international flights.
You can get flights from £550 per person return and do ask us for advice. We can book the flights for you, but a booking fee may apply.
