Somerscales Boutique Hotel was once the residence of English painter Thomas Somerscales who built his family home in 1874 in the very heart of Cerro Alegre, one of Valparaiso’s most historical areas.

The mission of Somerscales Boutique Hotel is to offer its guests an unforgettable experience and a home away from home base from which to explore the city and its surroundings. The hotel is family friendly so it is great if you are travelling with children and also offers very competitive rates.

You will be able to enjoy a complimentary daily breakfast that you can choose to take in either your room, the dining area or the terrace. During the day, you can relax in the coffee house or by the warmth of the fireplace. You can also admire the hotel’s collection of old radios, typewriters and choose songs from the old jukebox. Because of the hotel’s privileged location you will find plenty of restaurants, bars and places of interest right at your doorstep.

There are only 8 rooms, and they are all charmingly decorated and spacious. The smallest being the standard with yet a generous 20 sqm up to the superior double with partial ocean view that offers 40 sqm of living space. Our favourite however, is the double premium panoramic as it has high ceilings and a private balcony where you can enjoy stunning views of the bay. All rooms have safety box, minibar, cable TV, WiFi and private bathrooms with free amenities.
