Fleewinter

La Casona is a 10 bedroom hotel belonging to the Matetic family, famous wine producers in the Rosario Valley of Chile, just over an hour from Santiago. The winery is a boutique biodynamic winery and the vineyards were planted in 1999 on the hillsides of this privileged area making them among the pioneers of cool-climate Syrah production in Chile.

The Rosario valley, nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the slopes of the Coastal Mountains has a total of 16,000 hectares adjacent to the ocean. With ideal conditions to produce both red and white varieties, the 160 hectares of vines are located between 9 and 19 kilometers from the ocean, at an altitude of just 260 metres a.s.l.

The boutique hotel La Casona is located on the vineyards grounds and brings together a revival of rich traditions and cultural identity from the early 1900s. Restored by architect Raúl Irarrázabal with design overseen by Max Cummins, this fine colonial house offers 10 spacious guest rooms, swimming pool and a welcoming lounge with fireplace amongst its facilities, all coming together to offer guests a ‘Matetic experience’ that is truly authentic and unique. The hotel offers half board so that you can enjoy 2 high cuisine meals per day in a stunning setting and vineyards and wine tasting tours can be arranged.
