Fleewinter

We adore this cosy little boutique hotel in the heart of Phnom Penh. It scores high points for its extremely central location, charming atmosphere and lovely swimming pool. We were looking for the perfect place to relax after busy days sightseeing in this vibrant city, and we've found it.

The sprawling villa surrounds a lovely large courtyard with an inviting outdoor swimming pool and charming, alfresco restaurant/dining area where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. The decor is a wonderful blend of colonial and modern influences - from funky colourful cushions to old French posters in the lobby. The dining area is really relaxed and the perfect place to enjoy a night-cap by the pool without having to venture back into the city.

The rooms are a delight. Villa Langka has two wings, the original wing that is decked out in a more traditional Khmer meets French colonialism style, or the new wing that is more modern and funky. We stayed in the old wing, which we loved, and while there were no rooms free for us to view in the new wing, we are assured those rooms are equally as good.

Each wing has four different room types. The Standard rooms are the smallest; some are suitable for just one person but others have double beds and can comfortably sleep two. The Superior rooms are available with twin or double beds and are extremely comfortable. We love the Deluxe rooms however as for not too much more, you get even more space and a private balcony or garden. Meanwhile the Suite Rooms are extremely spacious with a living area, large bathroom with a tub and private terrace.

All rooms are kitted out with spacious en-suites, air conditioning, TVs, safety boxes and tea and coffee facilities.

The restaurant and bar serve a good selection of dishes with western and Asian dishes available and guests can also order room service.
