Shinta Mani Wild blends world-class design, hospitality and conservation. The camp was born from an unprotected, 350-hectare wildlife corridor – and they set out to save it from poaching, mining and logging.

The hotel has a partnership with the Wildlife Alliance (whose rangers have an onsite station), and resident naturalists, who assist the chef. The complex is made of 15 custom-designed tents, uniquely perched over moving waters and waterfalls with a large variety of activities available to round the offer.

The exclusive tents are spaced sporadically along a one-mile stretch of jungle-wrapped river, some directly over the rapids. These cavernous canvases are glamping aggrandised — there’s an outdoor decked living area made for lingering with a slipper bathtub, flamboyant animal-print sofa, cowhide-covered cooler next to a generously stocked minibar with crystal wine glasses and cocktail making kit.
Inside the metallic blue covering, brass double sinks separate a rainforest shower, while gold fans waft over framed floral prints, regal wooden elephant tables and the expansive handmade bed of hardwood, leather and hand-beaten steel.

The complex has a gorgeous dining area and bar, with a very spontaneous offer. Every meal is curated to introduce you to something unknown, and add to the adventure. The dining possibilities at Wild are endless, whether you’re eating at headquarters, on the lawn, at the Cistern, or having a waterfall picnic. The dining experience is just as spontaneous, with local fare inspiring the rotating menu boards which change daily, whether guests are exploring curries from across Southern Asia, or participating in a camp favorite: a wild foraged dinner.

A vast array of all-inclusive indulgences is offered, such as the “Adventures” that range from jungle sports, to foraging your dinner or joining the AK-47 armed poaching patrols. Shinta Mani Wild also offers a comprehensive wellness program at the spa, with two treatment rooms nestled amid giant natural rocks. The river takes centre stage, have a river-stone foot massage while soaking in a waterfall pool or enjoy their own homemade Khmer tonics. There is also a spectacular outdoor swimming pool nestled in a giant rock.

Wild is located at the confluence of southwestern Cambodia’s Kirirom, Bokor and Cardamom National Parks. It’s reached by private car from Phnom Penh (three hours) or Sihanoukville (2.5 hours), and a 20-minute 4x4 drive or via a zipline over the canopy and rushing Tmor Rung river that glides into the Landing Zone Bar.
