"Excellent. Charming staff, lovely food, great rooms beside the pool" - Fiona K, July 2017

The Shinta Mani Angkor oozes style and sophistication. Just walking through the perfectly manicured and funky corridors makes you feel like you’re behind the scenes in a fashion show. The design is a wonderful blend of modern and Cambodian inspiration that will satisfy any budding interior designers or hotel lover alike.

The hotel has a brilliantly central location but also benefits from being on a quiet residential street so is quiet and peaceful. It boasts a smart dining scene, soothing spa, an inviting black-tiled pool and tranquil gardens.

The decor of the rooms matches the smart decor of the public areas in the hotel. Dark black woods are set against soft white cotton sheets with dramatic splashes of orange and red, handcrafted lampshades and funky art work. All rooms have the latest mod cons including DVD and LCD TVs, iPod docks and wi-fi. The Superior Rooms are a very good size, spacious and smart - and some have doors that step out to the poolside. Meanwhile, the Deluxe Rooms are housed in the new wing of Shinta Mani, with first and second floor views of the pool and internal courtyard - the ground floor deluxe rooms look onto a leafy garden. The Deluxe Living Rooms have a small sitting area but have room for an extra bed if needed.

In the centre of the hotel is a tranquil inner courtyard featuring the sculptural black-tiled lap pool, backed by a soothing waterfall feature and surrounded by palms and sun loungers. The adjacent Pool Bar is a stylish spot for cocktails, smoothies, juices, coffees, teas or snacks, with a cabana den for private dining or shaded snoozing.

The hotel Kroya restaurant epitomises the best of street food in Cambodia and features a chic grey dining area with stripy floors and temple maps on the ceiling, and a breezy terrace - with Bill Bensley’s signature suspended dining swings hanging from the ceiling. There are some delicious dishes on the menu that blend modern and traditional Cambodian flavours, as well as more international meals. There is also a smart bar besides it.

The Shinta Mani Shack is over the road, which has a different type of accommodation available - but guests at either side can use the others' facilities.
