At 340 km from Campo Grande, the capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, the lodge, Pousada do Xaraés is situated in one of the most beautiful geographic regions of the Pantanal, the Abobral Pantanal, washed by the river Abobral. The lodge is part of a commercial cattle ranch carrying about 2000 heads in a total area of 4.200 hectares. The infrastructure was totally remodeled and amplified, giving it excellent conditions of comfort and quality.

The lodge now has the capacity to receive 46 guests in its facilities, which include an all purpose multimedia event room, a dining room, a sitting room with fire place, a games area, a kiosk for barbecues and a wooden fire stove, swimming pool and a tennis court. The sitting room, in the same rustic style, is surrounded by the garden and has various areas for chatting, reading, playing table games, snooker, a television and a bar, where you can relish delicious drinks. On the bar’s veranda and a few meters from the river, a beautiful view of the Pantanal, with its characteristic sounds and scents, besides the swimming pool. For those who wish to experience the true pantaneiro lifestyle, a camping facility is also available nearby.

There are plenty of activities to do in the area in accordance with the Pantanal seasons (flooded period and dry period), like horseback riding, canoeing, photographic safari, nature walking, piranha fishing and boat trips.

The restaurant’s dining room overlooks the gardens, from whose the birds nestled on the trees can be heard all day, is equipped with fans and air conditioning and is decorated in the rustic style characteristic of the whole guest-house. Delicious food, typical of the Pantanal, is served in a buffet system, while being kept hot on a wooden fire stove.

The lodge’s 17 apartments are distributed among three buildings and all are a few meters from the Abobral. All the apartments have private bathrooms, air conditioning, a fridge and a rustic decoration with a welcoming atmosphere. In each set of rooms, there is a veranda with fans and hammocks providing an alternative resting area. Daily room rates include full board and tours.
