It is 15 days packed with amazing adventures in some of the most beautiful and celebrated natural and wildlife hotspots in the world. You will start in iconic and sun drenched Rio where you will take a family journey up Sugarloaf and Corcovado. In the Amazon you will spend 3 nights on an Amazon cruise for a deep exploration of the rainforest. This is truly the best and most fun way for the whole family to experience the Amazon before jetting off to the world’s biggest wetland, the Pantanal, in search of the elusive jaguar. From here you will travel by land to the off the beaten track Chapada dos Guimarães to witness its stunning landscape of savannahs, canyons and waterfalls. But we have saved the best for last! Your journey will end at the mesmerising Iguaçu Falls. Hundreds of waterfalls cascading into the river below in a cloud of droplets and roaring sounds that will leave both adults and the little ones in awe of this natural wonder.

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Rio de Janeiro

Today will be full of everlasting memories as you visit two of the city’s and arguably the world’s most iconic sites. You will be taken on a full day guided tour of Corcovado Mountain where you will appreciate the magnificent Christ the Redeemer statue and the view of whole Rio beneath you.  After a typical Brazilian BBQ lunch (included), you will be able to enjoy another stunning view of the city from Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain). You will take two cable cars to get to the hill’s top from where you will have a 360 degrees view of the entire city. If you are lucky, you might see some of the monkeys that make Sugarloaf their home!

Day 3 - Rio at leisure

Rio offers so many activities but we have kept this day free for your family to enjoy as you wish. If you prefer to be kept busy, we can suggest a plethora of tours for you to choose from. Why not dedicate half day to the city’s cultural heritage and take a guided tour to Santa Teresa and one of Rio’s favelas or if you want to be active, we can include a family capoeira class.

Day 4 - Fly to Manaus

This morning you will be taken by private transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Manaus. Once landed, you will be met by your driver and driven to your hotel in the city where you will stay for one night before boarding your Amazon cruise the following day.

Days 5 to 7 - Amazon cruise

Today your family Amazon adventure begins! You will be met by your guide and driver in the morning and taken by private transfer to the pier to board your cruise where you will spend the next 3 nights exploring the Amazon region. You will be living on a traditional river vessel well adapted to the Amazon region and will enjoy full board and a plethora of activities. You and your family will participate in excursions to see flood plains, visit local inhabitants, hike in the forest, fishing for piranhas and so much more! All will be led by experienced local guides and a specialist Amazon biologist will be at hand to answer any questions you or your little ones might have. And in your spare time on board and in the evenings, you can view the rainforest from the boat’s spacious observation deck or relax in the common areas, read books in the library or play family board games.

Day 8 - Disembark cruise and fly to the Pantanal

This morning your family will disembark the cruise and will be taken by private car to Manaus airport to catch the flight to Cuiabá. Once landed, you will be met by your driver and taken by van to your lodge in the wetland. Transfer time will be around 3 hours so sit back, relax and enjoy the view! Once arrived at the lodge, you will check into your room. Here you will be looked after by attentive staff and your guide for the next few days. Your accommodation includes full board with activities throughout the length of your stay. Enjoy spotting the wildlife that lives around the lodge and keep an eye out for the funny looking capybaras!

Days 9 and 10 - Two full days of wildlife spotting in the Pantanal

The Pantanal is perfect for a family stay! As the world’s largest floodplain, it is home to several endangered species including the magnificent Jaguar and the region’s exotic flora and fauna make it the perfect destination for family and nature lovers alike. It is the best place to see wildlife in Brazil. Enjoy photographic safaris, boat trips, nature walks and more!

Day 11 - Land transfer to Chapada dos Guimarães

Today you will be taken by private transfer to your lodge, strategically located within the limits of the Chapada dos Guimarães National Park, at an altitude of 750m. It houses in its 500 hectares of private area, two seasonal waterfalls (December to July), an observation tower and several trails providing an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and birdwatchers.

Day 12 - Flight to Iguaçu Falls

Day 13 - Tour of the Argentine side of the falls

Today you will take a guided tour of the Argentine side of Iguaçu Falls and will have the opportunity to witness the power of water cascading uninterruptedly very closely. There are trails and two circuits around the park, so you can admire the natural phenomenon from different points of view. One of the most incredible experiences is to go to Devil’s Throat, where it is possible to see the strong waterfall from the top. The tour will last approximately 6 hours and as you will be walking for most of the excursion’s length, we recommend wearing very comfortable shoes and some waterproof clothing. We suggest adding a boat trip on the Gran Aventura boat to get super close to the falls and for a fun activity for the whole family, but make sure you do not forget your waterproofs!
