Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to São Paulo and transfer to Mairiporã
Today you will land in São Paulo where a guide will be waiting for you at the airport arrivals and will take you by private car to Unique Garden Hotel & Spa. The rest of the day is for you to enjoy and relax in the beautiful surroundings.
Day 2 - Day at leisure
A true nature sanctuary, your hotel and spa get together to provide an immersion in nature through the senses and a trip to a universe close to São Paulo, but far away from its urban chaos. We have included a B&B basis but the hotel offers many packages including full board and sensory experiences for you to re-energise and re-balance. Please ask us if you are interested in adding one of these to your holiday.
Day 3 - Transfer to Ubatuba (280 km – 4 hrs approx.)
Today you will be met at the hotel’s reception at a pre-arranged time and taken by private car to Ubatuba. Once arrived, check-in into Banana Bamboo Eco Lodge and enjoy the rest of the day.
Day 4 - Day at leisure
Today is at leisure for you to spend as you wish. Providing a haven of comfort in the middle of the little known Ubatumirim wilderness, the lodge was created in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural world and offers contact with nature, healthy and tasty gastronomy and plenty of activities. Included in this itinerary is the B&B option but if you wish to add any of the packages, please do let us know as you can choose from yoga classes, trekking, bird watching and even stand up paddle boarding and more!
Day 5 - Transfer to Paraty (50 km – 40 mins approx.)
Your next destination is another gem on the Atlantic coast and today you will be taken by private car to charming Paraty. Stroll through the town’s historic centre with its bucolic squares and cobbled streets closed to traffic. You will stay at Pousada LIterária, a fully restored colonial house surrounded by cultural richness and natural exuberance.
Day 6 - Visit to Fazenda Bananal
Today you will visit a fully restored colonial-era ranch turned into an environmental project with agro-ecological activities and farm to table cuisine. It was opened to the public in 2017 and it is a unique site not only for its historical heritage but also as its nature reserve shelters 260 species of birds, walking trails, a working farm and a native plant garden with fruit trees from all over the country.
Day 7 - Paraty to Ilha Grande (120 km – 2 ½ approx.)
Ilha Grande awaits and today you will be taken by private car to Conceição de Jacarei pier where you will board a boat transfer to the island and to your hotel.
Day 8 - Ilha Grande boat tour or Lopes Mendes beach tour
Asalém pousada is a rustic seaside hideaway in the dense Atlantic forest where candlelight and gas lamps are preferred to traditional electrical lighting and where all activities are carried out in total respect of the environment. Enjoy an included activity (either a boat tour of the island or a visit to Lopes Mendes beach) and spend the rest of the day spotting the marine wildlife from the hotel’s beach!
Day 9 - Ilha Grande to Rio (140 km – 3 hrs approx.)
Today you will travel back by boat to Conceição where a private car will drive you to Rio de Janeiro. Here you will stay at Arena Leme, situated in the quieter end of Copacabana beach. It is also one of the most eco-friendly hotels in the city supporting water and energy conservation, waste reduction and partnerships with various environmental programs.
Day 10 - Secrets of New Rio and Museum of Tomorrow tour
There is more to the Wonderful City than beaches, soccer and samba. Dig deeper for more profound and meaningful experiences that offer contact with nature, awareness, socio-environmental involvement and reflections for the future. In this private tour you will explore the modern Rio and its Museum of Tomorrow, which proposes a debate and reflection on a more sustainable world.
Day 11 - Departure
Your holiday has come to an end. Hopefully you will feel reinvigorated and reconnected with nature, and inspired by the different businesses and organisations that are thriving to be sustainably successful. We have included the departure transfer to Rio’s airport where you will connect with your next flight.
