This itinerary is perfect to unveil Brazil’s hidden gems whilst travelling in respect of nature. No need to take domestic flights as all transport is done by land. Fear not, you will not miss on anything, you will visit 4 magical Brazilian destination, from Paraty to Ubatuba, to Rio de Janeiro.
In our opinion, one of the very highlights of this holiday is a stay at Ibiti Project. Just a 4 hour drive from Rio it is a true Brazilian secret. Ibiti Project (formerly Reserva / Comuna de Ibitipoca) is a 6000-hectare reserve, set in the foothills of the Mantiqueira mountain range, home to one of South America’s finest country hotels.
This utterly inspiring conservation and sustainability project has at its heart the protection of local communities and culture, rural regeneration, reforestation, rewilding of native species – especially muriqui woolly spider monkeys and tapirs – and the creation of wildlife corridors. So, if you want a holiday with a conscience, this is the perfect journey for an unforgettable and more sustainable trip to this wonderful country!

Hike the Mamanguá Sugarloaf Peak for the best panoramic views of the region. The Saco do Mamanguá, Brazil’s only tropical fjord, is a unique marine ecosystem and tropical paradise located on the nearby Joatinga Ecological Reserve. On this small-group full-day tour, you set out from Paraty by bus to Paraty Mirim to catch a boat into the fjord. The hike up the Mamanguá Sugarloaf Peak (425m) is intense and offers incredible views of the bays and rainforest covered mountainsides. On the way back, we stop at a lovely sandy beach to swim, relax and cool off after the hike. We also recommend you try the delicious fresh fish with rice, beans and salad at our favourite beach kiosk. This is a great day out for people looking to get off the beaten track and enjoy the best views!

Corcovado is certainly Brazil´s most famous landmark and it deserves the title! Situated in the Tijuca Forest National Park, the mountain summit is one of the best viewpoints you can find in the city! We start the hike at Parque Lage at sea level, and go up to 711 meters high (2330 feet)! The hike takes around 2:30hs up and it presents some easy and short scramble sectors! At the summit we have an incredible 360 degrees view of Rio and the impressive statue of Christ the Redeemer.
