Accommodation is in the set of a traditional Kalaga village, shaded by ancient baobab trees. There are 5 twin Bakalanga huts (sleeps 2) with en suite facilities, as well as 3 family Bakalanga huts (sleeping 4) with en suite facilities. Seven Baobab Huts sleep 2 each, but have shared ablutions.
Planet Baobab serves delicious meals with choice of either 3 course set menu or 'a la carte'. There is a well stocked bar as well as a shop and swimming pool.
Activities from Planet Baobab are focused around a desert experience and some are seasonal.

- Bushwalk through the baobabs to learn about these fascinating trees
- Visit the Nxai Xini Pans to seek ancient fossils and stone tools
- Visit Chapman's Baobab - the campsite of Livingstone & Selous & one of Africa's oldest and largest trees.
Dry Season mid April - Oct
- Quad bike across the Makgadikgadi Pans
- Sleep out on the pans and experience the magical stars from horizon to horizon
Wet Season Nov - mid April
- Experience migration of the zebra & wildebeest
Access to Planet Baobab is possible by self-drive or you can take a road transfer from Maun. There are daily flights between Johannesburg and Maun. Please ask us for the best way to include into your African safari.
We recommend a mimimum of 3 nights at Planet Baobab to really be able to experience the treasures of the Kalahari desert.
