During this Swamps & Waterfalls itinerary  you first stay in Botswana and then moving on to Zambia. Surely, each with their own romantic charm. Firstly, your stay will be at a tented camp in the Joa Nature Reserve. Located just outside of the Moremi Nature Reserve. Furthermore the area is known for its large open flood plains, making this a picturesque setting for any romantic holiday. The area is also rich in wildlife. Hence, one of the area where you may see the rare Sitatunga antelope and Spotted Neck Otter. With the drier regions being home to large lion populations, as well as a few leopard and hyena. You spend your days here enjoying a variety of both water and land-based game activities. Besides that, you maybe even spend a romantic evening under the stars!

Secondly, from the Jao Nature Reserve you move on to a luxury lodge situated in Livingstone. This ultimate lodge is particularly for honeymooners and romantic couples. As it offers private candlelit dinners on the Zambezi river, as well as sunrise and sunset boat cruises. Spend your days here doing as much or as little as you like. With excellent views from your river cottage, and a variety of activities including picnic lunches and tours of the Victoria Falls. Livingstone is a charming small town with a rich colonial history. For those looking for a bit of an historical education, visit the Livingstone museum. Or even take a tour of one of the local villages to gain an understanding of the daily lives of the people living in the area.

This 7-day Swamps & Waterfalls itinerary is geared towards honeymooners and couples looking to spend a romantic time away. The itinerary can easily be extended to include a stay in the beautiful and popular Cape Town city, or you can stay on the wild side and visit Kenya or Tanzania to witness the annual great migration!

Your Itinerary

Days 1-3 - Tubu Tree

Arrival at Maun Airport where a local representative will meet you and assist with your 35-minute light aircraft flight to Tabu Tree. Spend the next 3 nights in a luxury tent in the Jao Reserve – an interesting and diverse habitat allowing for a variety of game viewing activities. Spend a morning out on a guided nature walk and an afternoon out on the water in a traditional doing some bird watching. Go on a number of day and night time game drives and spend a romantic night sleeping out under the stars. Your stay here is on a full-board basis and includes 2 activities per day.

Days 4-6 - Tongabezi

Today you will embark on an 80-minute light aircraft transfer from Tubu Tree to Kasane Airport, where a local representative will meet you and assist with your private transfer to Tongabezi Lodge. Tongabezi is the ultimate romantic getaway – you will be staying in a River Cottage with beautiful views from your veranda. Enjoy a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi to set the mood and spend the next few days enjoying guided canoe excursions, picnicking on a local island and visiting the Victoria Falls amongst others.

Day 7 - Return to Livingstone

Today is the final day of your Swamps & Waterfalls holiday. Enjoy a final breakfast whilst taking in the gorgeous river views, before your private road transfer to Livingstone Airport. Here you will either catch an international flight back home, or you can catch a flight to continue your holiday in Cape Town, Kenya or even Tanzania – to witness the great migration!
