Above all, the 13-day Botswana Explorer Safari Holiday takes you through some of the most popular game viewing regions of Botswana. Firstly your trip starts in the Chobe National Park, one of Botswana’s largest parks. For instance, it is known for its diversity of plant and animal life. Immerse yourself in the area by enjoying traditional day and night time game drives, giving you the chance to see some of the shyer and more nocturnal animals! You can also enjoy a boat trip along the Chobe River and see the pods of hippos bathing and playing gleefully in the water.

Secondly, on day 4 of your trip, your Botswana Explorer adventure continues to the Linyanti Marshes. A beautiful area in the Chobe National Park. For example, the Linyanti region is known for its large elephant populations, especially at the beginning of the winter months. The area is also home to a large variety of other game including lion, wild dog, hippo, sable & roan antelope amongst other buck species, as well as the Red Lechwe and a variety of bird species – making this an interesting area for game viewing.

From Chobe the Botswana Explorer takes you into the Moremi region. The Moremi Game Reserve is home to a unique eco-system including Savannah, lagoon and forest, which also makes it rich in diverse wildlife from plains game to the Cape wild dog and leopard. The reserve also forms part of the world-renowned Okavango Delta!

Thirdly, the final leg of your Botswana Explorer adventure takes you to a private concession just outside the Moremi Game Reserve. All in all, the area is famous due to the large open flood plains, a picturesque setting for any Botswana Okavango holiday. The area is also rich in wildlife and is one of the area where you may see the rare Sitatunga antelope and Spotted Neck Otter, with the drier regions being home to  large lion populations, as well as a few leopard and hyena.

* Flight access will be in and out of Johannesberg with a connect to Kasane and back to Maun. Flights in and out of Johannesberg have not been included, and will be included in the international ticket price.

Your Itinerary

Days 1-3 - Chobe National Park

Upon arrival at Kasane Airport you will be met by a local representative who will assist with your transfer to Muchenje Safari Lodge, where you will spend 3 nights. Muchenje is the only lodge situated on the western border of the Chobe National Park and has magnificent views of the floodplains. Spend your days immersed in the natural bushveld, going on day and night time game drives in the Chobe National Park, perhaps going on a boat cruise along the Chobe River.

Days 4-6 - Liyanti Marshes

Day 4 of your trip takes you via a road and air transfer to Linyanti Bush Camp. Linyanti offers a luxurious and memorable safari experience. Enjoy some off-road game driving, night game drives and guided bush walks and explore the Linyanti marshes in a traditional Mokoro. Guests staying between April-November will also be treated to a 30-minute helicopter flight over the marshes. You will stay here for 3 nights before the road takes you to the next part of your trip.

Days 7-9 - Moremi Game Reserve

A 40-minute light aircraft flight takes you to your next stop in the world-renowned Moremi Game Reserve. You will stay at Camp Moremi for 3 nights. Situated on the edge of a lagoon, Camp Moremi offers a traditional African safari experience, with some of the most spectacular game viewing. The diverse eco-system allows for both land and water-based game viewing, as well as the opportunity to explore the Okavango Delta.

Days 10-12 - Jacana Camp

Jacana Camp is the last stop of your trip. After a 35-minute light aircraft flight you will spend 3 nights at this tented camp based in the private Jao Reserve, just outside the Moremi reserve. Jacana camp offers a variety of seasonal game activities with mokoro and walking safaris being available all year round. From late July onwards, the area attracts herds of elephants, whilst the summer months bring the plains games and variety of birdlife.

Day 13 - Return to Maun

Today marks the end of your Explore Botswana Safari holiday. Make the most of your last morning at by enjoying a last breakfast and morning game activity before setting off.

You will depart from Jacana Camp via light aircraft back to Maun Airport, before catching the connecting flight back home.
