By Val Garibotti on 28th November, 2024

Where should you go in November 2025?

The word best suited to describe November is ‘bleargh’ – do you agree? A weird sort of transitional month between summer and the depth of winter.

The dark and damp gets us down a bit, so we’re ready to bet you don’t love it either. So why not head to the Caribbean or Asia next November, and beat the blues?

Plus, our travel tip? If you celebrate Christmas, a festive break overseas is glorious but if you don’t mind taking your leave a month early, or don’t celebrate Christmas, then head overseas in November, beat the crowds, and have the festivities to look forward to when you come home.

P.S. If you have a hack for getting through November without staring wistfully out the window at the dwindling sunshine, please let us know…

BAHAMAS

November marks the end of stormy season and the beginning of delightful, sunny weather in the Bahamas, with temperatures averaging 25°C to 28°C. The shoulder season means fewer tourists, allowing you to explore the islands more peacefully and at better rates. Pristine beaches like Cable Beach or Pink Sands Beach offer tranquillity, while the waters are perfect for snorkelling, diving, or exploring vibrant coral reefs.

The highlight in late November is the lead-up to the Junkanoo festival, where you can witness preparations for this colourful celebration. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, with local markets bustling but not crowded. Enjoy the clear blue skies and gentle breezes while indulging in Bahamian cuisine or taking sunset boat trips. November’s blend of off-peak serenity and emerging festive energy makes it a perfect time for an authentic Bahamian experience.

ST KITTS

November is an ideal time to visit St Kitts, offering a balance of warm weather and fewer crowds, as the island transitions from the quieter shoulder season into the festive winter period. With temperatures ranging from 26°C to 30°C, enjoy outdoor adventures like hiking Mount Liamuiga or exploring Brimstone Hill Fortress. The calm atmosphere provides a serene escape, allowing you to relax on quiet beaches or take leisurely boat trips to Nevis. Boutique hotels and resorts offer excellent service at more affordable rates before peak season, adding extra value to your stay.

Whether you’re soaking in scenic views or discovering the island’s history, the gentle breezes and warm sun create the perfect conditions for relaxation and exploration. As November progresses, you might catch early holiday preparations, giving you a taste of Caribbean festive spirit without the bustle, making it an ideal blend of tranquillity and adventure.

MEXICO

Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) transforms Mexico into a vibrant tapestry of colour, tradition, and heartfelt remembrance. Celebrated from October 31st to November 2nd, this cultural event honours departed loved ones with beautifully adorned altars (ofrendas), marigold flowers, candles, and offerings of favourite foods and drinks. Cemeteries come alive with music, storytelling, and families gathered to share memories, creating an atmosphere of joyous reflection. If culture and community are high on your priority list, and you’re narrowing down where to go in November 2025, then Mexico should be a serious contender!

Explore iconic celebrations in cities like Oaxaca and Mexico City, and our favourite, the less well-known favourite of San Cristobal de las Casas, where parades and art installations showcase the festival’s rich heritage. Visit local markets to sample traditional foods like pan de muerto and sugar skulls, or take part in face painting with intricate calavera designs. This season offers clear skies and warm weather, perfect for absorbing the rich cultural experiences. The Day of the Dead is a profound yet festive celebration, providing an unforgettable insight into Mexico’s deep connection with life and legacy.

Nelson’s Dockyard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is quieter, allowing for a more immersive historical experience.

November also sees the beginning of the festive preparations, so you can catch early cultural events without the crowds. Restaurants and boutique hotels often offer better rates, enhancing the value of your stay. Enjoy leisurely hikes through lush landscapes or explore the island’s vibrant art and music scene. With steady trade winds and a relaxed pace, Antigua in November combines natural beauty, warm hospitality, and a hint of festive anticipation, making it an ideal time to experience the island’s charm before the high season begins.

Temperatures are mild, with plenty of sunny days — ideal for exploring both the countryside and vibrant cities. The highlight of this month is Japan’s stunning autumn foliage season. Across the country, parks, temples, and mountains transform into a kaleidoscope of reds, oranges, and yellows, creating some of the most picturesque scenery of the year.

While the cherry blossoms may steal the spotlight, Japan’s autumn foliage (Koyo) is equally spectacular. Wander through the bustling souks of Marrakech and Fes, soak in the history of ancient medinas, or marvel at the intricate architecture of mosques and palaces. For nature lovers, the cooler weather is ideal for venturing into the stunning Atlas Mountains, where autumnal hues paint the landscapes, or experiencing the magic of the Sahara Desert on a camel ride.

If you’ve been dreaming of visiting Jordan, November is the perfect time to go. With daytime temperatures ranging from 20–25°C, the weather is ideal for exploring the country’s stunning sites. Even better, fewer tourists mean you’ll often have iconic landmarks almost entirely to yourself.

Start with Petra, where you can marvel at its rose-hued treasures without the usual crowds. Float effortlessly in the tranquil Dead Sea or hike through the dramatic landscapes of Wadi Rum, where red sands and towering rock formations feel even more magical in the peaceful atmosphere – if you’re deciding where to go in November 2025, you should consider Jordan.

This land is not only breathtaking but also safe and welcoming, with warm hospitality and incredible cuisine waiting to be discovered. Whether you’re exploring Amman’s ancient ruins or trekking through the Dana Biosphere Reserve, November offers the perfect blend of comfort, adventure, and solitude. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy Jordan at its best.

PHILIPPINES

Ok, there’s a risk here. If you go to the Philippines in November, you could be hit with storms, especially if you go at the start of the month and go to the Cordillera mountains. If you wait a few weeks and if you stick to the islands, then you’ll find a sweet spot before high season prices and crowds begin in December.

This is a great time for a flight to Cebu instead of Manila (hint: works really well with a stopover in Singapore) and to spend your time in the Visayas. See the tarsiers and chocolate hills of Bohol, laze along the Loboc River with thick forest on either side, look for dolphins, snorkel or dive, and head to Siquijor for waterfalls, turtles of Apo Island, and one of Marbree’s favourite hotels in the country. Or head for Palawan after Bohol with its limestone cliffs and jaw-dropping scenery. This should definitely be near the top of your list of where to go in November 2025.

LAOS

Want to ward off the frazzled feeling of December holiday’s season? Head to Laos in November to soak up the peaceful energy, natural beauty, and a culture that runs on its own laid-back time.

For maximum zen, our cultural itinerary takes you through idyllic Luang Prabang, the mysterious Plain of Jars, the quietest capital city in South East Asia, and the southern region where you can find your bliss in an ancient temple as the sun lights up the Mekong. Or perhaps it’s the waterfalls that bring out your inner calm.

Time in nature, sun on your skin (without it being outrageously hot!), watching the rivers flow, hours in cafés, and realizing that even the motorbike drivers in Luang Prabang take it easy… feel your blood pressure drop and your mellow meter rise.

THAILAND

November is the ideal time to explore Thailand, offering perfect weather and fewer crowds than other months. After the monsoon season, the country enjoys cooler temperatures, lower humidity, and clear skies, making it ideal for exploring. Whether you’re wandering through vibrant cities with rich culture, relaxing on stunning beaches, outdoor adventures such as hiking in lush rainforests, or exploring the serene countryside, the pleasant climate enhances every experience.

November also marks the start of Thailand’s festive season, with the spectacular Loy Krathong festival lighting up the night sky with floating lanterns. The combination of ideal weather, cultural celebrations, and natural beauty makes November the perfect month for exploring and enjoying both adventure and relaxation. If you’re looking for the best time to experience all that Thailand has to offer—without the extreme heat, rainy season or smoke season —November is your go-to month!

EGYPT

With daytime highs averaging around 25°C, November offers a more enjoyable climate, perfect for sightseeing and outdoor activities, whether you’re visiting the desert, cruising the Nile or visiting the ancient temples.

Additionally, November marks the beginning of Egypt’s peak tourist season, but without the crowds that typically arrive in December and January allowing for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience while exploring the historical sites.

Egypt is very high on the list of where to go in November 2025!
