Coffee Barbados Cafe at George Washington House on the Garrison was a real find. The setting is lovely the food is freshly prepared so sometimes you have to be prepared to wait but it is always worth it. They serve dinner on Friday nights and once a month it is a Jazz Band on the Friday night which is excellent. This place is very popular with tourists as well as locals. Friday nights reservations are essential and recommended at lunch if you want to be guaranteed a table but you can just walk in but you may have to wait, however the surrounding are beautiful and you could always tour George Washington House or even take a tour of the recently discovered tunnels. Forgot to mention it is open for breakfast from 7:30am on weekdays and 9:00am on Saturdays. The omelettes are great.
