Spa Holidays

Hi, I’m Sarah

I am Fleewinter’s Wellness & Spa, Slovenia and Madeira expert.

I’m from and currently based in Ireland and like the rest of the Fleewinter team, I’m always happiest when travelling or organising travel.

As someone who has always been passionate about spa and wellness, I have found great joy in combining my two greatest passions in life: spa and travel. Given the rising popularity of wellness travel in these stressful times, I am thrilled to pursue this path and share my passion with others.

Along my journey I’ve also discovered and developed the destinations of Slovenia and Madeira. Read on to find out why you should consider a wellness break and discover why Slovenia and Madeira should be on your travel list!

Spa & Wellness

I’ve spent nearly 20 years working in the spa industry, managing spas for the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons and Fairmont hotels. Working for these five-star establishments, I know what makes a spa special and how they can best look after guests. I have used this knowledge and expertise to select the best spas for Fleewinter guests and created specialised programmes that will suit all needs.

The spa world can be confusing and daunting even for the most seasoned spa-goer. My greatest pleasure has always come from listening and figuring out what are the most suitable spa programme and treatments. I have seen the right spa programme change lives! While I have specific programmes, these are to give an idea of what you can do. I will do an in-depth consultation before any bookings are made to make sure everything is tailored towards your needs and everyone’s needs are different.

Breaks to Relax and Rejuvenate

Relaxing face massage forming part of a rejuvenating break.

Today our lives are fast-paced, tied to the screen and busier than ever before. We are all aware of the serious negative effects stress has on our health and sometimes we need more than the traditional sun and sea holiday. If you are suffering from fatigue, a lack of focus, headaches, irritability, chronic colds and infections, anxiety and depression or just generally feeling burned out. Give yourself permission to invest in you and put yourself first by booking a relaxing spa holiday.

Medical Wellness

To help manage the physical and emotional strain on the body, it’s crucial to prioritize self-care. Europe’s top-tier medical spas offer a unique combination of cutting-edge medical treatments and holistic therapies, utilizing local natural resources like thermal and thalasso water to address chronic illnesses and ailments.

By blending diagnostic technology with a serene spa atmosphere, you can leave feeling revitalized and empowered to take charge of your well-being. Ultimately, these spas provide a balanced and effective approach to preventive healthcare that promotes vitality and relaxation.

So if you need a quick relaxing and rejuvenating break or a more specific medical spa programme. I would be delighted to have a chat and discuss your needs and organise that special holiday, which could change your life.

Slovenia

Slovenia holidays

While investigating potential spas in Slovenia, I fell head over heels in love with the country. I was blown away by the warmth of the people, the incredible food and the most stunning landscapes that had me hitting the brakes every two minutes to take photos.

Right in the heart of Europe, tucked between Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia. Slovenia has for too long been overshadowed by its popular neighbours. Although small, Slovenia packs a lot into its diminutive proportions. You don’t have to choose between swimming in a cool Alpine lake or the Mediterranean  – you can do both on the same day!

I couldn’t keep this incredible country to myself and now offer bespoke holidays to Slovenia and I would love to introduce you to Europe’s hidden gem. Need some more inspiration?

Madeira & coming soon Portugal

Madeira

Again when researching potential spas I discovered the beauty of Madeira.  During the pandemic, Madeira became one of the few places that you could travel to that was continuously on the green list ( remember those days…) so I expanded my offering and it has been growing in popularity ever since.

The island may have a reputation for a quieter, older demographic, but I assure you that is no longer the case. Whether you want to bask in the glorious year-round sunshine or venture across extraordinary hiking trails, there is something on this dramatic sub-tropical island for everyone.

Discover Madeira

Portugal Holidays

One of the reasons I love Madeira so much is the Portuguese people. Portugal has long held a special place in my heart, as a child, summers were spent in the Algarve.

And I have been back many many times but I’ve only scratched the surface of what this beautiful country offers.

I’m working hard to launch Portugal as a destination soon.

However, if a summer holiday on endless beaches away from the tourist masses is what you need. I do have a few options up my sleeve already…

Top Travel Tip

“Spas offer a retreat from the outside world with all its stress and pressure. Most people have lives filled with demands that never really stop. A stay at a spa is a rare opportunity to step away from all of that” – Sarah, Spa and Wellness Travel Specialist.
