With sunshine available all year long, Egypt is a fantastic destination to visit at any time.
However, it’s best to avoid the summer months of June, July, and August, when the dry heat can be quite intense.
For the most enjoyable experience, we recommend visiting between September and May. During this time, the weather is pleasantly warm, with plenty of hours of enjoyable sunshine, making it a perfect sunny getaway in autumn, winter, or spring.
When the UK is lacking sunshine, a fantastic option is to add a few days at a lovely Red Sea resort to your cultural holiday. This way, you can unwind and soak in some extra sun before heading home. Our Best of Egypt Luxury Itinerary is a perfect example, blending the best of Egypt’s rich culture with relaxing beach time.

You’ll visit temples at strategic times to avoid the crowds, ensuring a more intimate experience.
Aswan is another enchanting town along the Nile where you can embark or disembark your cruise. Staying at the legendary Old Cataract Hotel is a dream for many travellers. If time allows, we highly recommend a visit to the iconic Abu Simbel Temple—it’s well worth it!
And if you’re looking to unwind, consider adding a beach escape to your holiday for some sun at a beautiful Red Sea resort. You can truly customise your experience to do as much or as little as you want!

✅ Avoid crowds
✅ Sail at a slow pace
✅ relaxing pace and more time to rest
✅ Visit off the path sites
✅ Sleep in quiet places
✅ Personal and authentic experience
✅ Private docks, no clambering over other boats

â›” Â Very few have a swimming pool.
✅ Wider price rage available
✅ More bars and restaurants available
✅ Amenities: swimming pool, gym etc
✅ Night entertainment
â›”Many cabins (typically from 70 onwards) = crowds, on board and off
â›” Â Wake up early to visit the sites

â›” Typically docked alongside other boats, which is noisier and requires climbing across boats to access yours
Egypt Travel Advice
In light of the current situation in the Middle East, is it safe to travel to Egypt now (and in 2025)? ✅ The short answer is yes.
Although Egypt is geographically close to the current conflicts and often acts as a mediator—primarily regarding the situation between Israel and Palestine—it is not militarily involved in any way.
The UK Foreign Office continues to mark all the main tourist areas in Egypt as ‘green zones’, confirming that these locations are safe for tourists to visit.*
The Foreign Office does currently advise against all travel to areas such as North Sinai and the Egyptian-Libyan border. These areas historically see no tourist activity due to a lack of attractions but, more importantly, these restrictions don’t affect the incredible experiences and fantastic holidays that Fleewinter has to offer in in Egypt.
