Marrakech and Atlas Tips

By Sean on 21st April, 2014

VISITING MARRAKECH?  Here is some of our advice…

  • Walk about as much as possible, you see so much more than in taxis (although our tired legs still required 1 or 2 petit taxis)!
  • Henna cafe is a good idea for henna, not on the square.
  • Take earplugs if you don’t want to be woken by the early call to prayer.
  • The restaurant Dar Zelij was amazing, so highly recommended. They send a footman to walk you to the resto – a very good idea in the narrow streets.
  • Do the cooking class at the Riad.
  • The Ben Yosef Medersa is a must, buy the dual ticket with the museum for value.
  • Go to the Jemaa el fna in the evening, but don’t leave it till too late as some of the buzz goes by about 9.30pm.
  • There are not tons of ATM’s so try to take out money before you need it pressingly.
