Belize is an all year destination, with the exception of August. Like most destinations, there is a low season and a high season and you can expect to pay more or less, depending on how much guaranteed sunshine you’re after! Generally speaking, the further north is dryer and the further south is rainier, with more rain coming in the jungle to the West than the coastal areas to the East.
December – April
This is high season for Belize. The summer rains have eased off and by January you’re almost guaranteed sunny skies. This is also a fantastic time to spot migratory birds. Hotel rates increase by up to about 50% during this period.
November and May
Shoulder season in Belize sees some rain in November and humidity in May but they are still a great time to travel, especially as prices for accommodation are lower at this time and most attractions are still open.
June – October
You can expect an increase in rainfall, mainly at night from June onwards until reaching hurricane season in August; the only time that we would not recommend traveling to Belize. Otherwise, you can happily visit Belize during it’s low season and enjoy dramatically lower prices and fewer people.
