Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Belize
You will be warmly greeted at the airport by your driver and whisked away to your first jungle retreat. After a delicious welcome drink, you can relax after your journey in your private plunge pool and take in the jungle views or head to the infinity pool. Listen to the bird song and look out for howler monkeys in the treetops! You are sure to have a restful sleep in the comfort of your home for the next three nights.
Day 2 - Nature walks and Wildlife spotting
Ease into your holiday. Take advantage of the many trails around the lodge to stretch the legs and spot some wildlife. Belize is a haven for birds so take some binoculars with you and a guide! You are right on the Macal River which is absolutely beautiful and best enjoyed by canoe. There are also various other on-site activities to enjoy at your leisure and your concierge can arrange off-site if you are feeling particularly energetic! Take to the jungle bar or order a sundowner to your room before a delicious dinner.
Day 3 - Adventure day
Today is an adventure day and depending on your preference, you can visit the nearby Xunantunich ruins, the impressive 7 century AD Maya site. Another option would be to visit caves which were once used as ceremonial centres for the Maya People and today, make for a fascinating tour, some of which are river tubing experiences! Other adventures include horse riding through the jungle and guided hiking to Vaca Lake with the chance of spotting ocelot, tapir and spider monkeys! Choose to eat tonight in the privacy of your terrace overlooking the jungle and river or in the vibrant lodge restaurant.
Day 4 - Mountain Pine Ridge
Today you will be transferred to Mountain Pine Ridge. This is a chance to see a different kind of jungle in Belize, one that is higher in altitude and predominantly pine savanna. Your next luxurious lodge offers you more intimate opportunities to spot wildlife from the absolute comfort of your room. Take today to get accustomed to your new surroundings, take a dip in the pool or river, relax and have a drink on the stunning riverside terrace.
Day 5 - Adventure day, waterfalls and Caracol
After an indulgent breakfast, made with food from the lodge garden, a guide will collect you and take you to Caracol, the largest Maya site in Belize. You will also get the chance to stop off at a spectacular waterfall and swimming hole for a refresh. This is a day long trip so you will take a scrumptious picnic with you and return for another delicious meal at the lodge restaurant.
Day 6 - River relaxing
Rise early and start the day with a guided birding walk with the chance of spotting raptors, Stygian owls, cross bills and Rufus-capped warblers. Today we will organize for you to have lunch at the breathtaking Big Rock Falls. You will be blown away the vista and will have the rest of the day to relax by the riverside or explore caves by canoe!
Day 7 - Time for the ocean!
This is your final morning in Mountain Pine Ridge and after breakfast, you will be whisked away by your driver towards the coast, for your first dip in the Caribbean sea! You have every opportunity to spot dolphin, seahorses, sea turtles, rays, octopus, reef sharks and over 500 mesmerizing fish species, right from your own pristine sandy beach! The Belize Barrier Reef is the second largest in the world and so an idyllic place to snorkel, dive and fish. You are staying in beautiful, traditional style palapas (thatched roofed cottages) with tremendously ornate and stylish furnishings and with your very own luxurious outdoor shower! You are now in a brilliant location to explore the nearby village, Placencia and all its shops, restaurants and bars. Simply walk, cycle, or take a golf cart into the village. There is an on-site spa and restaurant with a fabulous wine selection. You can even join in on an evenings wine tasting session.
Day 8 - Relax with the sand under your feet
You can choose to spend today exploring Placencia, relaxing on the beach or by the pool or, you could arrange to head out on an excursion. You are a stones throw from the Placencia lagoon; idyllic and a great place to spot manatees and other wildlife. You are also now within a few hours drive from Maya ruins, Cockscoomb Basin Wildlife reserve and zip-lining, among other adventures!
Day 9 - Day at leisure
Today is a day at leisure. You can choose to relax on the beach, arrange a massage, or arrange with the hotel to head out for an excursion. If you like to fish, then an experienced guide can take you out on a boat to find your catch! If you’d prefer to snorkel or dive, then this can also be arranged.
Day 10 - Island time
Wake up to a spectacular sunrise and then sit down to some freshly brewed coffee, fresh fruit and creole-style breakfast. After breakfast, you will travel to your final destination, a private island. We will arrange flight transfers for which is a 1.5 hour flight time. Your next hotel is another indulgent, beachfront winner! Enjoy uninterrupted sea views from your doorstep and want for nothing as this room comes with your very own butler.
Day 11 - Private Island relaxation
Relax in the sunshine in your slice of paradise. If you feel like an adventure like fishing, diving or snorkelling then this can easily be arranged but otherwise there is nothing to do except bask in your outstanding surroundings.
Day 12 - Last day in paradise
This is your last day and you are completely at your leisure to spend it as you want. Relax and soak up some last rays, have a seafront massage, head out on a boat excursion or paddle around the waters. Indulge at your final dinner on freshly caught lobster and toast a fabulous trip!
Day 13 - Farewell Belize
Today you leave the island and head to the international airport for your flights home. Safe travels!
