Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Belize
Upon your arrival at Belize International Airport, you will be greeted with a warm Belizean welcome and transported by car to your first destination; Placencia, which is located on a long peninsula in Southern Belize. There is the option to stop en-route at the Belize Zoo, a zoo unlike any other; described as ‘porous’ in structure, the zoo and some of its enclosures offer a freedom to the animals which you don’t usually see. A great opportunity to see jaguar and tapir, two of the most iconic animals of Belize that are rarely seen in the wild. You will stay in a beautiful seafront villa with two swimming pools, a beach bar, restaurant and stunning surroundings.
Day 2 - At your leisure
Today is for relaxing and playing by the sea. You have two pools to choose from, the beach right on your doorstep with complimentary paddle boards and kayaks. Placencia offers pristine blue waters and white sand beaches so this is an idyllic spot to swim, play and relax on the beach. You are also just a 15 minute walk or an even shorter cycle from the village of Placencia; a lively, vibrant little place with extraordinarily friendly people and plenty of restaurants, shops and bars.
Day 3 -
Today you have a guided tour to Monkey River where you will get an amazing opportunity to spot manatees, iguanas and, you guessed it, monkeys! Belize is home to two species of monkey; howler and spider monkey, these of which you will see playfully swinging through the trees and along the river. This trip is great for wildlife watching and also to see life along the river, as many Belizeans live along the banks of Monkey River.
Day 4 - To the jungle
Today you will travel inland, into the Cayo District where your jungle lodge awaits you. En-route, you will stop off for a guided cave tubing experience and zip-line. This is fun for all over the age of 8 years old. Once you arrive at the lodge, relax into your new home by the pool in the beautiful grounds.
Day 5 - At your leisure
Today you can enjoy all that your lodge has to offer on-site. Check out the butterfly sanctuary, follow the medicinal trail or birding walk, take out canoes on the Macal River and look out for howler monkeys, check out the farm, or explore the natural history center. If you’d like to paddle downstream to San Ignacio town to explore and grab a bite to eat then you can be collected and brought back to the hotel.
Day 6 - Xunantunich Mayan ruins
Today you will get the chance to visit Xunantunich, an impressive Maya site which is set in the verdant jungle with plenty of wildlife spotting opportunities on offer. Your guide will walk you through the ruins, filling you in on the fascinating Maya history whilst also pointing out the flora and fauna of the area. Fancy adding some adrenaline to your day? You can add on some cave exploring, horse riding or even an ATV adventure to your day.
Day 7 - To the reef
Today you travel to the Belize Barrier reef where you will be staying at a particularly special hotel in the remote north-part of Ambergris Caye. You are now ideally located near the reef, in fact you can take out a kayak and paddle there!
Day 8 - Snorkeling the reef
Today you have an unforgettable trip to snorkelling sites where you will spend time amongst the mesmerising underwater world. You guide will collect you and take you out on a boat to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley with the option of a magical desert island BBQ too!
Day 9 -
Spend today at you leisure. Soak up some last rays, play in the sand, swim, kayak and sip on refreshing fresh fruit juice and cocktails.
Day 10 - Homeward bound
Today you will transit via local flight back to Belize International Airport, where you will start your journey home. Safe travels!
