The architects of Rydges Darwin Central designed the building to be energy efficient and to incorporate the use of local materials in the building concept to highlight the unique Northern Territory lifestyle. This won them the Tracey Memorial Award for Architecture and Design in 1997, demonstrating that Eco-engineering can still showcase a stylish and intimate hotel.

The hotel is within easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The Esplanade, on Darwin’s waterfront, is only 200 metres away.

The Rooms
Each air-conditioned room includes a private bathroom with toiletries, an LCD TV, and a dining area. Some rooms also have a kitchenette.

The Twin Queen Rooms (35 sqm) are spacious and comfortable and ideal for the individual traveller, couple or small family. They can accommodate up to three adults or two adults and two children. There is plenty of room for a cot, if required.

The King Deluxe Rooms (36 sqm) are spacious and perfect for business travellers or couples. It comfortably accommodates two adults, while the King Executive Room is a slightly larger corner rooms featuring a King bed, lounge, work desk and minibar.

The 42 sqm Junior Suites feature a king bed, a sofa bed, kitchenette and a lounge.

The Facilities
Waterhole Restaurant offers a diverse breakfast buffet selection and à la carte options.

The hotel has a small outdoor pool, a cafe and a restaurant. Laundry facilities are available.
