Nestled amongst 113 acres of pristine wilderness and located next to Flinders Chase National Park, Kangaroo Island Wilderness Retreat is the perfect location to experience all that Kangaroo Island has to offer. The hotel offers a variety of accommodation to suit both the budget traveller and those seeking the comforts of a boutique style hotel. Self-catering options are also available with apartment accommodation.

The Rooms
Overlooking the natural bush courtyard, the Courtyard Suites have a balcony to enjoy the surrounds and to watch the wallabies and possums that frequent the courtyard. All Courtyard Suites have a king size bed, ensuite bathroom, television, DVD player, reverse cycle air conditioning, safe, minibar and tea and coffee making facilities. Some suites also have a single bed, accommodating up to three people. A number of courtyard suites have interconnecting doors, making them suitable for families or groups of up to 6 people (sharing two rooms). The Bath Suites have all the facilities of a Courtyard Suite but are larger and they come with a large bathtub.

The luxurious Spa Suite is the largest room and it is located in the Courtyard. The bathroom features a bidet and huge corner spa. There also is a private balcony at the rear of the room, giving exclusive access to the rear bush area.

Ideal for families or for those preferring to self cater, the Eco-Lodge Apartments are located in the lodge building, the apartments have a king bed and set of bunks, a separate lounge and kitchen. There also is a sofa bed in the lounge meaning the apartments can sleep up to 5 people. These rooms also feature reverse cycle air conditioning and DVD player.
The more simple Eco-Lodge Rooms without balcony feature King sized beds (some also with a single), en-suite bathrooms, reverse cycle air conditioning, television, small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.
The lodge also features a communal lounge area and is surrounded by a Eucalypti forest perfect for exploring.

The Facilties
Nicolas Baudin’s Restaurant is a boutique dining experience utilizing the best local and South Australian produce. The restaurant serves various styles of local cuisines and they open the Bar for local platters, snacks, beer & wines at 3.30pm. While they don’t open for lunch, they offer bbq packs to take out or cook in the bbq area at the retreat, and a picnic pack perfect for a day of touring the island.

Breakfast consists of a delicious all-you-can- Continental Buffet, with a wide selection of items sourced from Kangaroo Island and South Australia. Cooked breakfast is also available on request.

The hotel also offers a therapeutic Massage service at affordable prices, the style is a blend of Swedish & traditional Filipino.
