Amalinda lodge consists of nine en-suite thatched chalets, designed to give you the feeling of being in a natural cave – with some of the walls even being formed by the surrounding caves. Each chalet is uniquely and comfortably furnished with spacious beds, a comfortable seating area, as well as a tea and coffee station and a mini-bar. The bathrooms are equipped with flush toilets and open-plan showers. Most chalets also feature a private balcony. There are three suites, one with an outdoor shower and the other two with outdoor baths.

The main areas at the lodge consist of a cosy and comfortable communal lounge and bar area, also designed to give you the feeling of being inside a natural cave. This area leads into a small and intimate library where guests can sit tucked away behind a granite wall pouring over the interesting books on offer. The large communal dining table can also be found in this main area and is made from old railway sleepers and rails. Outside you will find a large infinity pool with beautiful sunset views.

Activities at the lodge are centred around the areas rich cultural history – explore the San Bushman cave paintings, visit the tomb of Cecil John Rhodes, take a cultural village tour or a cycle tour through the Zimbabwean homesteads. You can also book one of the Paul Hubbard historical tours (chat to us about how to do this). Other activities are centred around the area’s wildlife, including rhino tracking either by vehicle or by foot and walks or hikes through the reserve. Guests can also indulge in a bit of TLC at the lodge spa, or simply spend an afternoon relaxing by the infinity pool.
