Victoria Chau Doc is one of the most luxurious hotels in this area - built in colonial style with low-rise French architectural design,it blends perfectly with its natural surroundings. The hotel is located on the banks of the Bassac River crossing and is an ideal base to explore the fascinating Chau Doc region.

The hotel boasts airy, spacious rooms, may of which have lovely balconies with river views and we love the pool which is on the banks of the river, and the perfect way to watch passing river life. All the rooms have smart wooden floors, combining the elegance of traditional Vietnamese handicrafts and colonial old world charm.

The Superior rooms are smart and spacious but we think it is well worth upgrading to the Deluxe Rooms which have river-view balconies. The Suites have comfortable sitting areas with sofa and a large writing desk as well as a river view balcony and the suites have a complimentary minibar, which will be refilled daily as well as four complimentary laundry items.

The Bassac Restaurant sits on the banks of the Bassac River with breathtaking views, particularly during the early morning sunrise. Their specialties include European and Vietnamese cuisine plus barbecues on the terrace of the river bank. Meanwhile, the Tan Chau Salon Bar offers fresh drinks, cocktails with Western and Asian snacks inside and delivers to the swimming pool. The resort also has a spa and massages can be arranged.

Deep in the Mekong Delta, Chau Doc town is 280 km (174 miles) south-west of Ho Chi Minh City close to the Cambodian border. Being in such close proximity to Cambodia, the region has been nurturing the eclectic mix of Cham, Khmer, Chinese and Vietnamese cultures for decades.
