"Excellent location, comfortable and well equipped rooms. Charming restaurant (River View Cafe) where we enjoyed breakfast, evening drinks and on one occasion dinner with friends. Unbeatable view of the river and bamboo bridge (especially at night). Highly recommended as a base for touring the old town." - Henry B, Feb 2019

The Mekong Riverside Resort is a pretty little resort that consists of secluded palm-roofed bungalows tucked into corners of the gardens, around a scenic lake and looking out onto the river. It is more upmarket than other resorts in the area and has a lovely swimming pool to relax in after a day’s excursion.

The grounds are beautiful as the resort is set into seven hectares of organic gardens. And the restaurant and bar offer tremendous river views and a varied menu that includes a delicious green mango salad and tasty river fish dishes that are so big they are hard to finish. Cooking Classes are available with the chef and you can always stroll through the garden to see the produce in its natural environment before it goes to the restaurant. They even have a fish farm where you have the opportunity to catch your own fish for your dinner that evening!

The bungalows are smart, clean and comfortable - with identical layouts, nice en-suite bathrooms and either king or twin beds. Our favourites are the 10 that are located directly on the Mekong River, where you can sit on your balcony porch and watch the local river life while enjoying room service. The other seven bungalows are located on the other side of the pretty lake in the centre of the resort. In these, you have a great view of the 7-hectare organic garden as soon as you step outside your front door.

The riverside bungalows are noisier due to the river traffic so you may prefer a garden bungalow if you are a light sleeper.

The resort has a strong environmental focus; its organic garden is watered with river water powered from a windmill powered irrigation system, the walkways are lit with solar powered lights and the staff are local residents.

There are plenty of activities to do in the local area that we can organise including cycling and walking around the local area, visiting the flaring market and observing the local industries inkling candy, brick and noodle factories. Located in the famous “floating market” town of Cai Be Vietnam, Mekong Riverside Resort is about two hours south of Ho Chi Minh City.
