A firm favourite for its great value and superb location, Cinnamon Hotel is small and well run guest house offering basic, clean rooms in the heart of Saigon’s bustling District One. Typical of city buildings in Vietnam, it is tall and narrow which means lots of stairs - and there is no lift!

The hotel has just nine rooms, reached named after a different Vietnamese flower, offering an intimate stay. Smartly but simply decorated the rooms have wooden floors set against white walls with black furniture. They have some nice finishing touches like their lampshades, which re actually traditional baskets placed over the lamps.

The deluxe rooms are simple but stylish rooms located at the back of the hotel; they have smaller windows and are darker but much quieter than those at the front. At the front of the hotel, the Deluxe Balcony rooms are much brighter with large windows and balconies but expect to hear traffic noise here. The top floor is home to the Suite Rooftop room which is extremely spacious and light and well worth the upgrade but please note there are no lifts at this hotel and this room is on the top floor (about five storeys).

The location is what makes this hotel a favourite of ours; Cinnamon Hotel Saigon is just a short walk from many of the city's main points of interests - the Opera House, Diamond Plaza, the Bitexco Financial Tower or the Independence Palace. The hotel is also surrounded by some of Ho Chi Minh City's most important parks, including The September 23 Park and Tao Dan Park.
