Chen Sea is located on pristine stretch of private beach, making it the perfect spot for a quiet and relaxing holiday spot. It boasts handsome accommodation and a gorgeous big infinity pool that looks out onto the calm ocean that surrounds Phu Quoc island.

It is tucked away in a secluded spot without any bars, restaurants or other hotels for neighbours, which makes it incredibly relaxing - although if you are the kind of person who likes to walk to nearby restaurants then this may not be the option for you.

The resort is superbly laid out, which means all the rooms and villas have a complete or partial sea view, and none are more than a few paces from one of the island's finest beaches.

The spacious rooms and villas, ranging from beachfront to hill-side with private pool, are smartly decorated with a tasteful blend of Vietnamese traditions and modern finishes - soft creams are offset by dark woods.

The Seaview villas are the least expensive rooms available and are set back from the beach with private verandas that are surrounded by greenery. The rooms are large, with double beds mounted on traditional wooden platforms, and spacious, smart ensuite bathrooms. The beachfront villas are identical but line the private beach and have direct beach access.

Meanwhile, the Jacuzzis villas are delightful and unashamedly our favourite room type. They are actually traditional houses from Hoi An in central Vietnam that have been dismantled and rebuilt on the island. They have beautiful high wooden beamed ceilings and are extremely spacious, with private jacuzzis and large outdoor sitting area. Meanwhile, the Ocean Facing Pool Villas are set over two floors - they are the largest yet with two bedrooms, two en-suites and their own private pools. Both of these are set into the gentle hill of the resort offering views of the ocean.

We especially love the beachfront villas with their wonderful location and direct veranda access to the the sandy shore, and the Jacuzzi Villas, which really offer a wonderful upgrade and tremendous interiors. Very smart indeed.

The resort has a beautiful restaurant, where you can dine al fresco and enjoy tremendous ocean views. The menu is very varied and offers a fantastic range of international and Vietnamese cuisine - but as it is more of a fine dining experience the menu is more expensive than anywhere else on the island.

Elsewhere there is a spa and small gym, a bar and a range of water sports facilities. The Cenvaree Spa is particularly invited and has a great range of massages on offer. It is also worth noting that all water sports and nautical activities are not available during the Monsoon period from May to the end of October.
