Scenically perched on the edge of the river, Anantara is the perfect 'downtown' spot to relax in Hoi An. Despite its wonderfully central location this hotel gets top marks for its large pool, landscaped gardens and relaxing riverside ambience.

Designed with French, Dutch, Chinese and Japanese influences that reveal Hoi An's fascinating cultural diversity, split level rooms and suites open onto porches with comfortable daybeds, overlooking the river or a garden courtyard.

There are four types of rooms on offer, which are housed in two and three storey French colonial style buildings, The Deluxe Rooms are on a split level with a bed on a raised area and sofa below, overlooking the courtyard garden and pool area. They also feature an al fresco porch daybed and have the convenient option of interconnecting rooms, which makes it an ideal choice for families.

The Junior Garden View Suites are the next size up, offering more space, while the Junior River View Suites offer superb views over the river. Meanwhile the Anantara River View Suite offers unrivalled space and luxury including a bedroom with a King sized bed, a walk-in wardrobe with a sunken tub, shower and dual basins. It has an upper and lower lounge space as well as a balcony with swinging daybeds.

The resort has a gorgeous French colonial style dining room by the river where breakfast is served and a fabulous a la carte menu is offered in the evenings. There is a great bar full of black and white pictures of the town in times gone by, which has a good selection of wines and more international dishes including pizza and tapas. In addition there is a lovely terrace cafe and poolside bar for lazy lunches.

The resort also has a fabulous spa on site and guests can even arrange river cruises through the hotel.

The resort is a short stroll from the centre of town, while the beaches of Cua Dai and An Bang are both five kilometres away, and can be reached by bicycle or boat from the private jetty.
