Ana Mandara Resort and Spa offers something completely different in the town of Dalat in the central highlands of Vietnam.

With 72 rooms and suites nestled among 17 unique villas scattered across a 35-acre park, it offers a tranquil stay in the Vietnamese highlands. The villas are beautifully restored colonial-style buildings, each originally constructed between the 1920s and 1930s by the French settlers of the time. The villas retain the unique personalities of their original owners while being lovingly restored to their former glory - albeit with a touch of luxury, with all care taken to preserve original design, decor and charm.

The villas may have anything from one to five rooms in them - each room is completely self-contained and private with its own locked door inside the villa - you just share the stairways and sometimes there are public sitting areas of the villa building. The rooms are beautifully furnished with Victorian free-standing style bath tubs, polished wooden floors, open fire places and colonial-style fans hanging from the ceiling.

There are five different types of rooms to choose from. Le Petit Rooms are the smallest with a Queen bed and garden view and some do not have bath tubs but these are very cosy little rooms, our favourite being the attic room in Villa 10, which has a cute sloping wooden ceiling and remarkable charm. The next size up is the Villa Double Room which is larger and has a King-sized bed with garden view. The Villa Studio is larger still and has a sitting area and room for an extra bed, while the Villas Suite is extremely spacious with a separate sitting room. Both of these two larger rooms can accommodate an extra bed for a child.

But the creme de la creme of rooms here at Ana Mandara Dalat is the Bellevue Suite which is absolutely stunning, boasting the largest private balcony on the property which offers a 270 degree view over the site. The King-sized bed is in a circular part of the room and behind it is the gorgeous claw-footed bath tub and open fire.

Le Petit Dalat is the hotel's signature restaurant, which serves anything from a pot of freshly roasted Dalat Coffee to home-made pastries, cookies, pasta, cheese platters and wines; for your dining in Dalat Vietnam, while you relax in Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa.

The resort also boasts a delightful spa, gym and outdoor heated swimming pool.

It is about 30 minute drive from the airport and about five minutes into the centre of town.
